My other half booked us in for a night for my birthday as part of the Les Miserables package. When he mentioned to the check in staff that it was actually my birthday they organised (without us knowing) a lovely bottle of red wine and chocolates with a birthday card for me! He even found out that I drank red...

Dear Victoria W, I was thrilled to hear that your birthday went so well (and do hope you enjoyed Les Mes). What a great way to celebrate! Our restaurant can get busy pre-theatre and we are very conscious to ensure that everyone leaves in time for the show. (Sorry the garlic bread was forgotten on this occasion.) Many happy returns!...

From the moment we checked in, the staff could not do enough to help our family. The kids were offered complimentary drinks as I checked in and our room was available despite an a.m. arrival time. The room itself was clean though compact with 2 x doubles. Suites are available for an additional cost. The location is great. In the...

This is a great choice for Melbourne. Rooms are very comfortable, location is great - 10 minutes to Victoria market, food everywhere of course - as was value. The gym is so-so, quite basic, but there are great running routes over the Yarra. What really made the Marriot five star for me though was the service, starting from a check...

Located in the CBD convenient for most things Melbourne. 5 minute walk to city pool and lots of jogging routes nearby. Excellent bar/resto next door (Trunk). Rooms feel fresh and clean with plenty of space. Good, free wifi. Expensive breakfast but plenty of better value cafés nearby. Pokey gym and a horrible pool that frankly is a waste of time....

I stayed at this Marriott because it is close to our Australian office and the customer visiting stayed as well. Great choice. The room was large, clean and very comfortable. Large flat screen TV and comfortable sofa were nice. I used room service, laudry service and workout facilities during my stay and was pleased with all. The restaurant is good...

We arrived at the hotel early in the morning and the porter helped us instantly with our bags and allowed me to unpack the car after a long drive to Melbourne from Sydney waiting patiently for me to ensure I had retrieved everything I needed from the car. Dear Michelle F, Great to hear that you enjoyed your stay here with us and your appreciation will be passed on to our team - especially our Concierge, Sarthak. From the moment we arrived we had nothing but the best of service by and extremely attentive and polite staff. To be greeted with a glass of champagne while checking in was the forerunner of our stay. Staying in Central Business District

Neighborhood Profile
Central Business District
Full of discovery and delight, Melbourne’s laneways tease the imagination long after you’ve put your weary feet up to rest. They weave through the heart of the city: cafes, bars, restaurants and boutiques, throbbing with conversation and espresso coffee. You never quite know what you’ll find around the next corner: cobblestone alleys, old beer barrel hoists and even vats of simmering organic soup. There is the air of Berlin in the street art, a touch of Paris in the umbrella-shaded cafes and, reminiscent of Rome, eateries tucked away in the most unlikely of places. Perhaps you might want a break and cross the Yarra River to Southbank - walk along the promenade, bask in the sun at a waterside bar and decide whether to go to the nearby casino or book a ticket at the Melbourne theatre company.
