We recently spent 3 nights at the City Tempo as we had to be in town for a wedding. The room was great value for money. It was quite new, we got a small balcony, it has a separate bedroom with a kitchenette that had a cook top, convection microwave oven, a small dishwasher and even a washer/dryer combination under...

Very central and close to public transport. Close to Victoria Market. Check in was slow. Room average size. Austere furnishing, virtually all white with no colour. Bed comfortable. Had a small kitchenette what was handy. Good value. I would stay there again next time I am in Melbourne.

I enjoy staying in the north part of the city and this place is close to vic markets. The view was really nice looking north. The room was very white and clinical, like a dentist. The bathroom was small. Overall it was ok but better ones around. Balcony was big enough to stand on but not big enough for a...

Hubby and I stayed for three nights over New Year's. This facility is central to everything and actually within walking distance of most central areas. It's only one block from the Queen Vic Market! The unit itself had everything one would need, including a washer/dryer! We were on the fourth floor which was rather noisy though, even with the windows...

I stayed at this place for 3 nights. Sanju from reception - who was very friendly and helpful throughout my stay - gave me an upgrade to a 1 bedroom apartment. It was on the 11th floor, very clean and well presented. The kitchenette had everything, including dishwasher and washing machine combined with drier. The location is simply great. Everything...

Stayed 2 nights and slept well. Was well appointed, free WiFi and good TV selection. Handy to Victoria Markets and La Trobe St with tram stops easy to find. Could even walk to a loop rail station. I needed the 24 hour desk as I took a Philip Island tour and arrived back at 11pm - no trouble to collect...

The apartment was clean and had a fresh new feel. The day we arrived it only had one lift working out of three. At one stage it took 16 minutes wait to get a lift to our 11th floor. We have run accomodation places before and always had access to an emergency lift repairer... if an apartment block has 30...

I visited Melbourne from 14.12.2016 to 17.12.16 and stayed at City Tempo Hotel. This is my second time at the hotel. The service and friendly manner of the staff made our stay memorable. The friendly attitude of the staff at check in on arrival made a big difference after an early morning and tiring flight. Mr Mohammad checked us in...

Stayed in Melbourne for 2 nights in studio apartment. The hotel is well located very near Victoria market and in reality everything with CBD is walkable. The 10th floor room was clean comfortable and ideal for a short break. We didn't notice any outside noise and slept well. The reception staff were friendly and helpful. Recommend

Staying in Central Business District

Neighborhood Profile
Central Business District
Full of discovery and delight, Melbourne’s laneways tease the imagination long after you’ve put your weary feet up to rest. They weave through the heart of the city: cafes, bars, restaurants and boutiques, throbbing with conversation and espresso coffee. You never quite know what you’ll find around the next corner: cobblestone alleys, old beer barrel hoists and even vats of simmering organic soup. There is the air of Berlin in the street art, a touch of Paris in the umbrella-shaded cafes and, reminiscent of Rome, eateries tucked away in the most unlikely of places. Perhaps you might want a break and cross the Yarra River to Southbank - walk along the promenade, bask in the sun at a waterside bar and decide whether to go to the nearby casino or book a ticket at the Melbourne theatre company.
