Stayed 2 nights at Tempo. located central north city area a few mins to southern cross by tram and 3 mins walk to the market. Good value apartment with good space and recommend balcony for more open space. 7/11 3 mins from apartment also was good for coffees. good option for people wanting to keep the price down.

Would definitely stay here again. Accomodating for late arrivals. Good amenities and comfortable bed. Cafe located downstairs for coffee and Queen Victoria Markets nearby. Close to CBD. Helpful and friendly staff.

I had reason to visit Melbourne on a short business trip. Check in is 2pm which threw me . Most hotels is 10am. None the less after arriving at ten I waited an hour and got to my room. Standard self contained room. All that you bed for a stay. Kitchenette, washer dryer, and pots n pans . I was... More

This is the second time we have stayed at City Tempo and both times have not been disappointed. Service is very efficient and polite. The rooms are well serviced and clean. The location is close to public transport and easy walking distance to shops and CBD attractions.

Rooms are nice but not huge - suited my purpose as I was out most of the time. Clean - tidy - well equipped - quiet - good central location - I would have no hesitation in use them again. Checkin and checkout was pretty simple and staff took care of luggage as we arrived well before check in time.

Get it while it's hot. Made to measure 4 star which is starting to show wear and tear with the volumes coming through these rooms. they aren't that well cleaned but well appointed and located for the price you pay. There are pretty much no views just a modern student style accomodation to lay your head.

I stayed here with my partner in late July/early August for 3 nights. As others have said, don't be fooled by the small street frontage. Walking in, we were greeted immediately on arrival and throughout our stay, all the staff were exceptional in their service - even as to go as far as offering tips for great restaurants/bars. We arrived... More

Have been staying here for years due to the excellent reception staff. This time I was made very much welcome by Hamid and Sandy. Very helpful and full of smiles. They will try accommodate any request and always with a warm smile. However , my one complain is still the inconsistent Housekeeping standards. Check my reviews over the years on... More

The room was really clean and well equipped. It is a close walk to the CBD. An IGA is right across the road which is a great convenience. We stayed for a short two night and loved it. It was very secure with the use of keycard having to be used for elevators.

Staying in Central Business District

Neighborhood Profile
Central Business District
Full of discovery and delight, Melbourne’s laneways tease the imagination long after you’ve put your weary feet up to rest. They weave through the heart of the city: cafes, bars, restaurants and boutiques, throbbing with conversation and espresso coffee. You never quite know what you’ll find around the next corner: cobblestone alleys, old beer barrel hoists and even vats of simmering organic soup. There is the air of Berlin in the street art, a touch of Paris in the umbrella-shaded cafes and, reminiscent of Rome, eateries tucked away in the most unlikely of places. Perhaps you might want a break and cross the Yarra River to Southbank - walk along the promenade, bask in the sun at a waterside bar and decide whether to go to the nearby casino or book a ticket at the Melbourne theatre company.
