Second stay. Got upgraded to a one bedroom. While no view because it was on a lower floor appreciated the separate living area. Free wi fi and the speed was pretty good. Tram stop right outside. Good selection of restaurants and coffee shops close by.

The hotel is near great shopping and restaurants, the riverfront, and many art and performance venues--all within walking distance. Our studio room was very spacious, modern, and well equipped. The room was immaculate. We particularly loved the large shower -- who needs a bathtub anymore? The free wi-fi worked well and there are computers available in the lobby as well,...

We found the location of the hotel just great, so central to all the shops and restaurants, walk to dinner in little bourke street and pop on the tram right outside the door, the cab rank was very close, the hotel staff were extremely helpful and the rooms were clean and spacious.

Good location - walking distance to Chinatown and major shopping areas. Plenty of eateries around. Small entrance to hotel - could miss it if you don't notice the small signboard on top. Spacious room with kitchen facilities. Breakfast is very slow at affiliated eatery next to hotel. More worthwhile to eat at any of the food outlets nearby as it...

I had expected much more than this budget conversion of a former office building (for that is what it seemed to be to me). At this price point I had expected at least a hint of indulgence. But the manky carpet, the old soap sitting in the bathroom cabinet, along with a used latex glove - I didn't like to...

The check in took quite long and the room was not ready by 330pm which is rather disappointing for a big hotel. The room was great with a nice view of Melbourne. The laundry was expensive. $8 for a complete wash. Otherwise, it is an alright hotel with a good location.

Staying in Central Business District

Neighborhood Profile
Central Business District
Full of discovery and delight, Melbourne’s laneways tease the imagination long after you’ve put your weary feet up to rest. They weave through the heart of the city: cafes, bars, restaurants and boutiques, throbbing with conversation and espresso coffee. You never quite know what you’ll find around the next corner: cobblestone alleys, old beer barrel hoists and even vats of simmering organic soup. There is the air of Berlin in the street art, a touch of Paris in the umbrella-shaded cafes and, reminiscent of Rome, eateries tucked away in the most unlikely of places. Perhaps you might want a break and cross the Yarra River to Southbank - walk along the promenade, bask in the sun at a waterside bar and decide whether to go to the nearby casino or book a ticket at the Melbourne theatre company.
