I've paid more before to be in a worse location in a smaller room in Melbourne. I can't say we had lots of space, the apartment was compact but it had everything we could need including a hob. For the price I'd definitely recommend this place, so close to the free tram zone and walking distance to almost anything.

Stayed here for 2 weeks whilst in the city on business. Pretty much what you'd expect from a cheap apartment hotel. Fairly well equipped and clean, though only serviced once a week, and to a varying degree of quality. Street noise not an issue, though my room, 113, was directly above the air con/generator unit, which was very noisy and... More

This is great hotel. The location is superb. Near the tram stop and food stall. Just a few minute walk from melbourne central stop and queen victoria stop. The hotel located just between these tram stop. From airport you take skybus to southern cross st and take free shuttle skybus to the hotel. You will be dropped just in front... More

We had a wonderful stay here. We were upgraded from the East Melbourne location and we received very reasonable rates and everything was better than we anticipated. A whole new end of town for us to explore and the Melbourne Market is right around the corner.

Stayed here for three nights on a shopping weekend. Room is a good size for one person, with basic facilities which suited me as I was out all day and only really in the room to sleep. Wi-fi wasn't the best. Room was very noisy which wasn't great at night but I've never stayed in a quiet room in Melbourne... More

Nice little apartment with every thing you need, washer/dryer, dish draw, cooking facilities but your probably eat out as there are so many eateries. The apartment are not service and two towels for 5 days isn't enough, could do with a few spares. It is very central and handy to everything.

We booked this apartment because of the location and price. It is a great location in the middle of the city. We booked a studio apartment, but it was more like Harry Potter's cupboard under the stairs. Very small room with not much room to move about. The bed was tiny. I think it was two single beds together. Everything... More

We stayed at this property in July to see a sports game at the MCG. Given the prices of Melbourne hotels, this was a good deal so we weren't expecting exceptional things. The place was clean enough, but there were a few things that let it down. The noise levels weren't brilliant - so if you're a light sleeper I... More

I stayed 1 night in a "superior 1B" on the 1st floor that overlooked the street. It was noisy, but expected. Room was clean however chairs were very dirty, and the heater old and clunky. Wifi came as a 2hr and 1hr voucher which seemed stingy but signal was good. They accommodated a late check in which involved having to... More

Staying in Central Business District

Neighborhood Profile
Central Business District
Full of discovery and delight, Melbourne’s laneways tease the imagination long after you’ve put your weary feet up to rest. They weave through the heart of the city: cafes, bars, restaurants and boutiques, throbbing with conversation and espresso coffee. You never quite know what you’ll find around the next corner: cobblestone alleys, old beer barrel hoists and even vats of simmering organic soup. There is the air of Berlin in the street art, a touch of Paris in the umbrella-shaded cafes and, reminiscent of Rome, eateries tucked away in the most unlikely of places. Perhaps you might want a break and cross the Yarra River to Southbank - walk along the promenade, bask in the sun at a waterside bar and decide whether to go to the nearby casino or book a ticket at the Melbourne theatre company.
