No one was at reception to greet me for 10 minutes and I was very exhausted from driving from South Australia to Melbourne, No snacks in the room or room service. The price on the website was $20.00 less than the actual charge which was $20.00 more. The Oulsen themed corrido=rs and rooms where lovely. The bed comfy, the shower soft and luxurious but not enough products to really soap up. NO BATHROBE. NO WINE TO DRINK OR CHEESE TO HELP PROMOTE AND STIMULATE THE ECONOMY.

Thank you for taking the time to pass on your feedback. We really appreciate your comments and do understand where they are coming from. For the most part, the items you have raised, such as no robes or mini bars are covid-safe measures. We know that they are important part of a hotel experience, however we are required to follow guidelines put in place by the health department. We are confident that we can return to some normality soon. With regards to the price you paid for your accommodation, I would encourage you to check your invoice against the confirmation provided at the time of booking. If there is a discrepancy, we will be happy to rectify this for you. Finally, we are pleased to say that our restaurant has reopened and we are ready to stimulate the economy.

Have stayed with the Olsen many times before, and love the Art Series chain of hotels. Was left a little disappointed this time around. As mentioned by others, next door is a construction site - they work Saturday's by the way - which starts in the morning. I paid extra for a balcony room, but unfortunately the room I was allocated opened up directly onto the building site, the balcony rendered unusable throughout the day. I have long been an ambassador of the beds that the Art Series use - have even been responsible for some people buying them, so I was really looking forward to the stay, however the bed was a King Split - so had the dreaded hotel lump/line down the middle - I'm used to this at some of the more budget hotels, but was surprised to find it at the Olsen. Location wise is great, handy to trains, shops, supermarkets, bars and restaurants. Two Wrongs downstairs is great - however if you're over 25 years old you'll feel very old after 8pm.

My wife and I stayed here for two nights on a visit to Melbourne and were not disappointed. Worth staying there just for the artwork adorning the walls. We were greeted by friendly staff who made every effort to find us a table at a local restaurant as the in-house restaurant is closed due to Covid-19. Our room was spacious, clean and with the ammenities one would expect. My only criticism is that one of the bed lamps was not working and while this was reported, it was still kaput when we left. The standard lamp was not working either, but that presented no problem for us. The hotel is on Chapel Street and on a tram line, so transport to the city is no problem. For the more athletic, there is a pleasant walk along the Yarra into the city. The acid test. Would We stay there again? Yes.
