A little hard to find down laneway initially, but great central location with plenty of opportunities for cheap breakfast in lane outside. Clean and quiet rooms. Good shower. Only disadvantage is no free Wi-Fi.

We stayed for a few nights for AO tennis and sightseeing and we were quite happy with the accommodation. Staff members were friendly and helpful. Location is good, close to everything on foot. Our room was compact but reasonably clean and tidy. I don't know how many stars this hotel has got but the price was reasonable for what we... More

Just visited Melbourne for a few days to see the Australian Open tennis. It was a late booking but great value in the centre of Melbourne walking distance to everything. Located in a classic melbourne lane way amongst cafes and restaurants, but quiet at night. The room was compact but clean with a contemporary design and feel and in good... More

Stayed here in Jan 16 with my husband so we booked a studio room. The room had a comfortable king bed, and standard accessories I the room including stocked mini bar. The room was smallish but comfortable as it was only a place to sleep. Outlook was to the adjoining commercial building. The entry is off a lane that is... More

This January 2016 fridge wasn't cooling. Only go there cause I know the place and As my son is 10 yrs old and loves... More

Well its not a 4 star hotel. There were stains on the carpet, and the bathroom could have been cleaner. Normally 4 star hotels have free WiFi, this one doesn't. The day we arrived the smell of paint was overwhelming and when we spoke to the staff they seemed as if its wasn't bad. We were told that the 7th... More

I have stayed here 3 times now. Always enjoyable. Staff very helpful (so important). Close proximity to middle of town, lovely restaurants and transport. Clean rooms and absolutely so quiet with no street noise. Feels like you are the only one in the hotel. Well insulated. I will be back soon.

Staying in Central Business District

Neighborhood Profile
Central Business District
Full of discovery and delight, Melbourne’s laneways tease the imagination long after you’ve put your weary feet up to rest. They weave through the heart of the city: cafes, bars, restaurants and boutiques, throbbing with conversation and espresso coffee. You never quite know what you’ll find around the next corner: cobblestone alleys, old beer barrel hoists and even vats of simmering organic soup. There is the air of Berlin in the street art, a touch of Paris in the umbrella-shaded cafes and, reminiscent of Rome, eateries tucked away in the most unlikely of places. Perhaps you might want a break and cross the Yarra River to Southbank - walk along the promenade, bask in the sun at a waterside bar and decide whether to go to the nearby casino or book a ticket at the Melbourne theatre company.
