Friendly staff. Great location with short walk to shopping areas, food, trams etc. Good rooms, only downfall is they could do with a bit of a paint job, nothing to major. Noise wasn't as bad as I had thought from other peoples reviews.

For the most part a good stay at this hotel. Staff very friendly, hotel situated in a great place of the CBD. Decor fine! Shower very decent too. Even had a kitchen unit with toaster, good sized fridge which was great! Relatively clean too. Negatives - Blind with window Bed on wheels and on hardwood floor therefore rolled....no brakes! Sadly...

Studio room. Decent and clean. Do not expect too much. Average, but location is right at the center. Near to tram and Chinatown. CBD area. Cooking allowed and small lobby. Value for money. Will consider for next trip

It does have tony rooms, and if you're stuck with loud people next to you it can hurt. But I love the location, it's cheap, and reliable service. Worth the cash considering it's close to pretty much everything central.

location was great handy to city, resturants shopping sight seeing. on the negative the tv was so worn out you couldn't see the screen properly anymore and the bathroom was very dark at the basin end with only one small light at the far end near the door....when you had a shower the entire bathroom flooded completely to maybe 3...

This hotel is excellently located in central Melbourne, just round the corner from the cafes of Hardware Lane and a couple of minutes walk from Bourke St Mall. Of course this location has its potential downsides; we stayed midweek in a room fronting Little Lonsdale St and it was quiet enough but there was potential for a bit of noise...

We stayed here one night to catch up with friends and family. (by the way it is on Little Bourke not Little Collins) The hotel has seen better days, but is in a good position. The timber floors squeak in the rooms and the hallways. The TV is so small I could not see the time on the morning show,...

The location is fabulous, walking distance to restaurants, cafes and all that the heart of Melbourne has to offer, the staff are friendly and helpful, my room was clean and comfortable, there is also a convenience store directly opposite the Hotel, I would definitely stay here again.

At the heart of the city! At the same stretch to Chinatown. Accessible to Flinders Street Station (8 min walk). Located just beside Blok M (Indonesian restaurant) for halal food. I stayed for 3 nights. Excellent location but the rooms need refurbishment, especially the toilet! The walls were not sound-proof and it gets really noisy at night. However, I will...

Staying in Central Business District

Neighborhood Profile
Central Business District
Full of discovery and delight, Melbourne’s laneways tease the imagination long after you’ve put your weary feet up to rest. They weave through the heart of the city: cafes, bars, restaurants and boutiques, throbbing with conversation and espresso coffee. You never quite know what you’ll find around the next corner: cobblestone alleys, old beer barrel hoists and even vats of simmering organic soup. There is the air of Berlin in the street art, a touch of Paris in the umbrella-shaded cafes and, reminiscent of Rome, eateries tucked away in the most unlikely of places. Perhaps you might want a break and cross the Yarra River to Southbank - walk along the promenade, bask in the sun at a waterside bar and decide whether to go to the nearby casino or book a ticket at the Melbourne theatre company.
