Wonderful place, central to shops town and parking space. Taxi to town $7.00 or bus 540 stop outside to town every hour and return. Unreal IGA Hill st up road, every possible array of tasmania cuisine you could want.Tavern around corner and Italian restaurant.Ill be back here again.

I thought from the moment I walked into Reception with its throw back to some forgotten age and my introduction to the room with chandeliers and wall paper that I wasn't going to enjoy my stay. But the room sort of grows on you. Even with power points that didn't work and a heater with a broken thermostat it wasn't... More

We stayed 3 nights at a Spa Suite in this hotel. Decoration is so elegant. The room is very spacious and comfortable. There is a kitchen with microwave only so that you cannot cook. The old building is located on a hill but only few minutes drive to the city. The view is great and the air is so fresh... More

Quiet location with friendly helpful staff. Well equipped room with microwave, fridge and toaster. It is old fashioned, which added to its charm, even a bath. Parking available on site. Ask for directions to stores, restaurants etc

This place is the best. I'm coming back here. It is up on a hill, and right near the city. It has really good views. I took three kids and grandma. We booked the two bedroom apartment. It was in the old section. Exactly the section I wanted to be in. It felt like a house. The entrance was at... More

We booked this hotel because we like old building. The reception is pretty, old-style. They have VDO tapes that we can borrow to watch in room (with VHS player). The room is spacious so we didn't need to organize our luggage in a crammed place. This hotel is not right in CBD so it's quiet. Oh, the wi-fi didn't work... More

Just out of CBD , can walk into city from here but would recommend a taxi back as it is situated on a very steep hill, which gives you magnificent views of Hobart. This motel is spacious and comfortable and very quiet. The staff are amazing, and went beyond the call of duty to see that my father and I... More

Our first family holiday in years with in-laws, aunties, and adult children. Mayfair on Cavell is a converted old mansion with later buildings attached. It is run by descendants of the Ludeke family who restored it in 1967. Some staff have been there for 40 years! It was the only establishment which offered a family suite that would sleep 6... More

The elite rooms of the Mayfair on Cavell are decorated with a old world charm. Spacious and comfortable my room was great. The pricing is very reasonable and restaurants, bottle shop and a convenience shop are all within 3 minutes walk. The CBD and Salamanca is 1-2km downhill so be prepared for the walk uphill on the way back (if... More

The motel is located in a very quiet area of Hobart - but if walking is your only mode of transport, be prepared for a steep climb up the hill! All staff were very helpful and friendly. Room was clean and comfortable. Microwave, kettle, toaster in the room and plenty of additional kitchen items available on request. Small bar fridge... More
