I originally booked for the Imperial over the phone before leaving Perth for Hobart. The lady that took the booking struggled to understand me but still convinced me to pay for the first night by credit card over the phone. She did not mention it was non refundable. She promised to email me a receipt and confirmation but did not....

Plus: Nice common rooms, kitchen, friendly staff, wifi that works in main area. Minus: Small rooms, noisy beds, wifi that is too slow in dorm rooms. Would stay again if in a pinch. Definitely not my first port of call in Hobart though.

I have stayed at this location in years past under different management, and the experience been a positive one each time. Now returning, the premises are clearly under new management, and the place seems much more run down than the previous visits. As $74 per night, out room was cramped and dark - just a solitay dim lightbulb hanging from...

I recently spent five days in a single room here and found it to be ideal for my needs. The room was simple but comfy with an opening window...yeah! The share facilities are basic but clean although the lack of hand wash provided in one of the bathrooms was a negative. It it's really all about convenience with all of...

heart of the city, great stay, facilities are really good. Friendly staff but could do with a bit more info about the area. They didnt really seem to know about cafes or places to visit when asked. . The wifi was not connecting, but make sure you ask staff to fix it for you.

Middle of city location, really comfy beds, big lounge room with a nice warm heater. The atmosphere was very friendly and the old building gives the place a nice feel. Perfect stop off point in hobart !

The Imperial Hotel is a very big place with many rooms but we still found it had a very relaxing atmosphere. We could use free wifi and unwind. The only bad thing: On our day of departure we asked to leave our bags for a few hours. The friendly receptionist told me that the storage room was downstairs around the...

Spent Saturday and Sunday nights here. Great location, hence not easy to find free parking. Was woken both mornings by clubbers leaving the club in the morning (5am) on Sunday morning and by the bin men on Monday morning (4am-5am). Would recommend a room that doesn't look onto the main street. Bathrooms were basic but acceptable. The bed was large...

I booked a single room for two days and after the first night of no sleep I tried to cancel the second night but the useless owner who lives in Perth who is not in touch with reality would not let me cancel the second night. I was so disappointed I checked into another hotel and didn't even stay here...
