Whenever we spoke to staff they were very helpful and accommodating. The room was very good value for 2 adults and 2 kids. The king bed was very comfortable and the room was lovely and warm. The bathroom is huge! Only a couple minor things to note- a guide book would have been great that listed how the TV works (a TV that could access Netflix would've been even better!), room service options and a menu for the restaurant. Other than that a room that accommodates 4 should have crockery and cutlery to match and unlimited (or at least more) hot water would be nice! We really enjoyed our stay.

I haven't left a review for hotels in a while but felt compelled to leave one for Rydges Hobart. We booked on Luxury Escapes as we had a discount code and had been looking to visit Tasmania for a while. Our expectations were low due to the reviews but didn't mind as it was cheaper than anything else by miles. Rydges exceeded our expectations and then some. Reception was efficient and friendly, and clearly explained the facilities and offers that came with our booking. The room was very nicely furnished and spectacularly large with a lounge area completely separate from the bedroom, which is unheard of for even a five star hotel unless you specifically book a suite. Service from reception to the rooms was quick. We found the location adequate for our stay. Uber into town is about $10-$13, but there's a large popular eat street within a 10 minute walk from the hotel. Many restaurants also offered delivery when we couldn't be bothered heading out. This hotel will definitely be our top pick should we visit Hobart again, but we're likely to bring a car with us next time due to how decentralised the sites around town can be. Good thing they offer free parking as well!

I chose to stay with you because of the close proximity to Calvary hospital where my husband had surgery. The old world charm of the hotel was one of the reasons I chose to stay here rather than the other accomodations nearby. The room I had was warm and comfortable and in keeping with the heritage of this lovely old hotel my room was furnished in period style. I particularly also loved that the on site restaurant where I had breakfast each morning had awesome views of Hobart. The accomodation rooms were spaced enough to create privacy with the ability to walk straight outside rather than having pass other guest rooms and wander along the garden paths leading to the car park. North Hobart is a lovely place for walking and enjoying the many period homes in the surrounding area. Thankyou for the excellent hospitality and warm reception of staff.
