We stayed at the Grand Old Duke for a week to visit the wooden boat festival. This outstanding property is situated in historical Battery Point and a short walk will take you along the most picturesque streets to the majority of the delights of Hobart. Yes, it's even better than the photos on the website, rooms beautifully furnished and decorated...

This is a comfortable apartment tastefully furnished in the Grand Old Duke (once a pub) in the quaint old area of Battery Point in Hobart. Perfectly located and within walking distance to Salamanca Place and the harbour. Consisting of a large bedroom with four poster bed, nice size sitting room, kitchen and bathroom.

Staying here was one of the highlights of our romantic trip to Tassie! A beautifully presented apartment with all the comforts and amenities of home situated in the heart of Hobart's historical part of town with its charming buildings, eateries and Salamanca - all within easy walking distance. Communication with the host was also excellent. Loved it!

I stayed at the Grand Old Duke in October and had the most relaxing, and enjoyable time swanning around cafes, bakeries and wine bars in the battery point and Salamanca areas. I enjoyed the location so immensely. The rooms at the Grand Old Duke are lovely and comfy and I felt this was the first holiday I have ever truly...

A group of us stayed here recently and I highly recommend it. It was clean, comfortable and a bit like staying at a country house. A perfect location for Salamanca and the suburb is very quaint and historical. Easy walking to the markets, local antique shops and plenty of restaurants. The bathroom looked newly renovated and we were all comfy...

Perfectly located in Hamden Road so only 5 minutes walk to Salamanca. Very homely yet elegant and all the facilities you need. Our group of ten used all three units plus one next door. We dined in twice during our four night stay and had all the necessary facilities to create some beautiful gourmet meals. Would highly recommend to anyone...

This is a great location with fantastic places to eat and shop nearby. It is walking distance to Salamanca and the dock, and close to bakeries and restaurants at battery point. The room was comfortable and warm during cool nights. Despite being November it was quite cool, so I don't know how the room would be on hot days. The...

Elegant, but comfortable accommodation in my favorite part of Hobart. We stayed in the York apartment having the entire second floor with two lovely bedrooms, impeccably clean kitchen and bath and spacious living room plus a useful half bath downstairs at the foot of the stairs. The charming Arthur Circus street is just behind and the excellent Jackson and McRoss...

Thank you for your positive review. The Grand Old Duke's great location allows for easy walks to the best of Hobart's attractions and that means a car isn't always necessary. We understand that travel plans need to be flexible and where possible, try to accommodate early arrivals/departures. We hope to see you return soon.
