With the advent of 'gaming' (read: gambling) this place has become a cookie-cutter pokies venue that serves alcohol and lunch as an afterthought. Back in the day it was a fantastic pub called the Ship Inn. Sadly, it is no more.

If your looking for a very clean, quiet and centrally located accommodation in the CBD of Hobart this will satisfy your needs. It also offers a very reasonable breakfast that is included in the very reasonable price charged. Highly recommended.

Bathrooms newly renovated, rooms nice and clean, but could do with a touch of paint. Staff/Manager could do with uniforms and training on dealing with customers. Were not really happy to be there, but not rude.

This hotel is in a great location and staff were friendly and helpful. Unfortunately, what I didn't realise, is that Hobart CBD isn't exactly happening on the weekends so it might have been better to have stayed closer to Salamanca. The price was reasonable, the room was quite large (a nice change) and the bathroom was great. It had everything... More

Situated above a gaming bar and pub I did have my reservations about the potential quality of our stay but everything downstairs shut at 9pm so there was never any noise. We were able to park in a nearby multi-storey car park. The room was clean and comfortable but a little dark. The breakfast was surprisingly good. The location was... More

Staying in Hobart for 1 night, the Hotel was easy fo find, but the multi-storey car park was much more difficult to find and get into. Friendly staff but the downstairs area is a bar/pub with TVs around for gambling. Close to the harbour and tourist attractions - equally situated close to all the City Centre shopping. The room was... More

I visited here today and was pleased with the attention given by the staff during the lunch period, however after lunch a new girl must've been rostered on.. (I think her name was ebony). her attention to customers was more than lacking.. (it seems she chose to spend more time with the local "workers"). maybe she was trying to "impress"... More

The room was clean enough, although it could do with a fresh paint job. Keep in mind this isn't a high end place, it doesn't present it's self as one. The loud music doesn't keep going all night, which was surprising. But the biggest bonus (and the reason for the very good rating) was a full cooked to order breakfast... More

Looks very different to what's advertised and not in the good way! The bathroom was the only okay part of the room. It was like staying in a box. The included breakfast was pretty good and Sharon one of the lovely and very helpful staff members downstairs were the only reason to give this a star rating at all. When... More

Situtated in an inner city pub, the Hotel is surprisingly a half decent stay. The pub itself is forgetable; it lacks charm and warmth and the only positive about it is the fact that you can pop downstairs for a drink if you need one! The clientele are colourful to say the least however if you are a 'people watcher'... More
