After reading a number of reviews about this place I was excited to visit, what a massive let down. Firstly, this place is so dirty. We were the only one staying in the main accommodation house and the bathrooms were all filthy, our ensuite, as well as the shared bathrooms. This heritage listed home has been butchered by the owner’s amateur renovations. I was given a different room to what I booked, without any explanation, when I questioned Kevin the next day he said something about a water leak. Not a surprise given the state of the place. I think a lot of people are conned by the fact that Kevin is such a friendly chap. They ignore the mould, the dirt, the dust on everything!! the magazines piled up in the corners of the rooms and the general rubbish left everywhere by previous guests or otherwise, literally piles of newspapers in the dining room, not to mention the construction site behind the house..all because Kevin is very friendly. I’m afraid that friendly just doesn’t cut it, when you get given a filthy teapot and a milk jug with old milk still stuck to it for breakfast, you wonder how clean is the kitchen he’s working out of? Kevin has no regard for his guests’s health or his heritage listed home. My partner had a very frank discussion with Kev, I’m afraid he just doesn’t get it. He ignores the filth and is happy to keep serving it up to his guests.

We are frequent global travelers and can confidently say that this is the most disgusting B&B we have ever seen. Unchanged bed sheets with long hairs, dirty bathrooms with various type of hair on the shower floor and mold, dirty carpet and building in disrepair to mention a few. Kevin gave us another room when we told him that there was no way for us to stay in the assigned room. The second one was marginally better and we took it since it was after 9pm. The had to clean the bathroom before we could use it. We covered the pillows with towels since the inside was disgustingly dirty. We left as soon as we could in the morning and did not even take coffee. Worst night sleep ever given very loud road noise.

Very happy with our stay here. Kevin was the perfect host, and prepared us fresh made coffee and a lovely hot breakfast. The room was very spacious and the bed and pillows were super comfortable. Was a short 10 minute walk downhill to get to our bus pick up location, taking us to Port Arthur and the start of our Three Capes Walk. Two supermarkets nearby and enough dining options to keep us happy! Very well located. Highly recommended for a great value place.

At first you may be thrown off with the entry to the building, overgrown garden and lack of 'accommodation vibe' however no need to be concerned. The room was very cute and homely. The bed was amazing, best night sleep we have had. No problem with the shared bathroom. In the morning we met Kevin and he cooked up a great homemade brekky and made us coffee. We called Kevin at about 2:30pm, luckily he had a room available for that same night. Can not beat the value for money, next time we come to Hobart we will be sure to stay here again. Great location on outskirts of the city, would definitely recommend to family and friends.
