We had a fantastic drive across the Nullarbor from Perth but staying at typical motels (although all were very clean and efficient). After a few wonderful days in the Clare valley (Thorn Park Luxury B&B) we headed to this architectural wonder perched on the rugged southern ocean cliffs on KI. Expansive contemporary luxury inside. Full, help yourself bar (try new... More

The lodge exceeded my expectations in so many ways. The organic feel and design of the building has to be commended in really blending in with the natural environment. The natural beauty and secluded nature of the lodge provides the opportunity to really relax.. Something that we seldom do these days! Personally walking along the rugged cliff tops, taking in... We were lucky enough to participate in the 2016 KI Food Safari with James Viles from Biota Dining and the inimitable Maggie Beer. From the pick up at the airport on day 1 to the drop off (reluctantly) on day 7 we were incredibly well looked after. The program was action packed but it was entirely at our discretion what... As part of a conference group, we had been looking forward to this long weekend for many months. Our welcome, the facilities and staff exceeded even my dreams. This is a wonderful place to visit. Remote and isolated but self contained with every possible luxury. Staff are friendly and accommodating and for the most part very competent. They hire Interns... More

Southern ocean lodge is fabulous place, the view when you walk in the door is BREATHTAKING I could not fault the staff, the service, management absolutely everything was spot on, the food safari was 5 days of exploring food producers, eating their produce, drinking their wine, then coming back to the lodge for more food and wine cooked by the... We have stayed at the other Baillie Lodges (Longitude 131 and Capella) and Southern Ocean Lodge is just as fantastic as the others. I have nothing that I can fault. The staff are brilliant, the tours they include are first class, the food is to die for, the rooms, if that what you call them, as ours was more like... More

Unobtrusively sitting on top of a cliff facing the Southern Ocean, with Antarctica only some 3000 km due South, the Southern Ocean Lodge is luxurious and indulgent. The modern architecture of the building is as striking as it is inviting. The large wall size windows of the reception, great room and restaurant areas allow the visitor to drink in the stunning views... More

You are greeted at the airport for a 50 minute drive to the Lodge. When you enter the big double doors you are blown away by the views out of the Great Room. You are then given a suggested timetable for your length of stay that encompasses many of the highlights on KI. The rooms and staff are just plain... More
