We arrived in Coober Pedy around midday and were greeted by lovely reception staff. It was our first time and we were given a lot of information on what to do which we found very helpful. The rooms were pretty cool, comfy beds, clean facilities and being underground was a new experience. whilst reading other reviews there seems to be... More

We were disappointed that it wasn't really underground. The effects just looked tacky and echoed every single surrounding noise. We heard every conversation and every door closing. However the bathroom was clean. The bed was clean and the reception staff very friendly and helpful. Needs new beds and pillows but in Coober Pedy you can't be too fussy.

Everything in the outback is more expensive than it should be. This place is a good example! Obviously there are no doors on the rooms so it can be VERY hard to sleep. Wifi turned off at 10pm. Showers and cooking facilities were good. It's a place to stop for a night, maybe two at a push. I think there... More

Coober Pedy's famed underground lodging! This place is rather decent, just that due to the underground nature, this is no phone signals in the rooms and the Wi-Fi is in the reception building only. The underground building structure and decorations/posters on the wall are all quite worth exploring. Those reflect the area's history and industry, and look fabulous. The kitchen... More

To sleep under the ground is a special experience. The sleeping room are nice and tidy, but very less privacy. All the sleeping facilities are open and connected to each other what makes it noisy and hard to sleep proper.

Cool location right into the Rock. The backpacker area was especially. Our motel room was very quiet and totally dark with lights out. Roomy with All amenities fridge tea coffee Good shower but no hair dryer. Kitchen available. Only knock was that the bed had big sag in the middle

Mum had been here 20 years ago and wanted to share that experience with me. She stayed in backpackers (aged 60) last time but this time we upgraded to motel room. She was not wrong it was very cool underground which was needed as temperature outdoors reached 43. Staff were friendly and helpful. Wifi in reception only but ok once... More

So we stayed 1 night in the hostel dorm accommodation there under ground and paid $30 each off season. They need to get the little things right, like making sure all the lights work in the bathroom, install a shower screen / curtain to stop your clothes getting wet. The tv room didn't have a tv remote & the couches... More

This time stayed in one of the small motel rooms. Clean, comfortable and quiet. Have stayed in a couple of other places in town but this is the cleanest. Reception is open long hours. Always happy to stay here. A credit to all the staff.

We stayed at an underground backpacker dorm at the Radeka's. It's a unique experience to stay underground in Coober Pedy. And you can cool down on a summer day when it's 40+ outside at ground level. The staff were really friendly and helpful. The facilities are really good. The underground dorms are setup with limited facilities, but that adds to... More
