Loved the location. The bar makes it a lively place so avoid if you want a quiet time. I was in Room 1 which is right by reception, it also is accessible by customers of the bar who are not residents. The lock on the door is terrible and no locker in the room, though paid for lockers are available (security should be free, in my opinion). Especially important as this place takes in all sorts, I had released prisoners and homeless put in my room - I feel that travellers/tourists shouldn't be in with these customers. I had a good time here. It could have gone wrong but it didn't. And the location really is as good as you'll find. The customer service from reception needs a little training, but I barely spoke to them so it didn't really bother me. Kitchen also very good.

I wish I had actually done my research and read the trip advisor reviews of this house of horrors prior to booking. When I actually arrived I was so terrified by what I saw that, despite the no refund policy, I left and on a recommendation headed for another hostel. I did not bother seeking a refund. All I cared was that got out safely before I dared staying a night there.

The walls are paper thin so a good night sleep is out of the question. Random pieces of furniture in the room which are all dirty and broke. The bed has never been cleaned and you've to make it yourself which are roughly 10 years old bedding. Air con was good but it stays on all night which made the room too cold. No windows to let fresh air in just a dirty door with a cover over it into a smoking atea which was loud. Old fashioned and rude staff. Kitchen tiny. Dirty balcony area with drunk men.

Wouldn't let me stay there for more than a week so I had to find alternative accommodation. Staff discriminatory towards me. Rooms cramped and untidy. Noisy bar on same level as accommodation. Kitchen small and dirty. Very crowded common space. Did not give me the back packers discount because I was Australian. Staff unfriendly. Fire hazard waiting to happen. Charged me premium price. Would rather sleep on the street then stay there again.
