What a beautiful hotel. Wonderfully decorated throughout. Exemplary staff, excellent bar, spacious rooms, well equipped gym, lovely pool, fantastic location. Not many more adjectives I can use! I probably wouldn’t choose the loft suite next time due to the bathroom being downstairs. Despite this it was a stylish room and very comfortable.
Lovely hotel. Staff are a standout, wonderfully warm and personal service. Restaurant has a vibrant a stylish layout and excellent food, and our room was comfortable with modern bathrooms. Great location near cultural sites and CBD retail and restaurants. The only detractor was our suite room was on noisy North Terrace with trams and cars. Will definitely stay again when next in Adelaide.
Stayed one night to finish up a short holiday on Adelaide. Was in the Junior Suite which was very good value for money. The room was very comfortable, clean and quiet. Very much enjoyed the spa. In particular very pleased and grateful for the assistance I got after realising almost last minute the booking had accidentally gone through for a date some weeks in the past. I was able to stay for my intended date and even given an upgrade to a room with a better view. The new renovations looked great including the dining area and bar. All interactions with staff were very pleasant and helpful as well. Wish I could have stayed longer!
Love art deco hotel in downtown Adelaide. Tastefully refurbished and very comfortable. Staff throughout were professional and polite. Stayed on a b&b basis and breakfast was also very good. Leisure centre also very well maintained with a nice pool, sauna and jacuzzi.
What an amazing room! :) the staff was so nice. and the breakfast was so yummy! :) I loved my staycation and will happily come back. Really short walk to so many nice bars and restaurants, and convenient parking! Just perfect ;)
Just finished our stay at the Playford on North Terrace and WOW! Not only is the hotel visually stunning there is such a calming vibe to the hotel. Rooms were immaculate and so stunningly designed and laid out. Everything you could need and more. We were greeted and looked after by Ricky at the front desk during our stay and we cannot fault his service at all. He goes above and beyond and made our stay an absolute breeze. Look forward to staying at this beautiful hotel in the future!
From enquiring through to check-out, our whole experience was truly wonderful! The upgrades to the rooms are classy, elegant & of high-quality in comparison to other hotels of the same price point. Being located so central to our working space along side walking distance to shopping, restaurants & bars this location is perfect. The pool & spa is clean, well-maintained & good temperatures. Beds are extremely comfortable, bathrooms spacious & no noise could be heard in the room considering you are in the heart of the city. The staff would be the highlight of our experience alongside the beautifully decorated hotel. Each & every staff member from front desk, front bar, cleaning staff & others within the hotel were all so welcoming, friendly & willing to help in any way. Special thanks to the manager Ricky his service is truly amazing! I am a National Performance Manager at Optus & I would be extremely proud to have someone of that calibre representing our brand, he speaks to his guest & staff with nothing but respect & care. He is a true asset to your company! Thank-you to everyone for our wonderful stay, we were all very impressed & will be back to stay again soon!…
The Playford was my favourite hotel prior to Covid, we spent many nights there. I was very excited to return this month with my daughter for a girls night, my mum and Aunty also booked a room for the same night. Unfortunately I left feeling a bit disappointed and frankly a bit ripped off. I initially booked a loft suite at my daughters request for something a bit special, also booked for breakfast and total price $544 for one Friday night. I was happy to pay this as it was a Friday and it is the “Playford”. I had a call a few weeks before informing me that the loft suite was being renovated and we would be upgraded to a north terrace balcony suite, I was happy with this. There is no longer valet parking, although self parking was only $30 and very easy and close, so not really a problem. Check in was easy and although it didn’t have the same feel as the old Playford, staff were still friendly and helpful. The room was large but outdated. The carpet was stained, the furniture looked worn and shabby. The bed was as I remembered and very very comfy. The bathroom was nice and seemed updated. The room was clean and complementary drinks from the mini bar and free movies is a nice gesture. Breakfast was nice but seemed not to be the spread it used to be. The service was lovely but it felt very cramped and maybe the tables could be spread out a little more. I was happy to be able to start earning some Accor points again but I stayed at the Sofitel at the start of the year and for the same price there is no comparison in quality of the accommodation, the Sofitel being a clear standout. Even with the little bit of revamp at the Playford, I’m sad to say it felt old and tired and unless I get a bargain on the room I wouldn’t stay for that price again. It’s great that The Playford was able to stay open and provide work for people during covid but it does actually feel like the rooms have been lived in a little too much and need a full overhaul. The Pullman was also a favourite and in the Accor group, but after staying there a few months ago, it was the same feel and unfortunately I’m leaving these hotels feeling they are no longer worth the money. I’d be happy to pay 200-250 but that’s about it. If you are looking for luxury and happy to spend 500-600 a night, check out the Sofitel or EOS. That said, the staff are as always lovely and we were comfortable, breakfast was nice and the hotel is in the best spot, it just wasn’t worthy of the price tag anymore.…
We were hopeful that the return of the Playford was not going to result in disappointment. We needn’t have worried ,it was like reuniting with an old friend. Accomodation was lovely , food as ever, excellent, staff , helpful and cheerful. So if you are looking for a perfect weekend away from the mundane, can I suggest the wonderful Playford.
Had a nice stay but not worth $333 p/n (long weekend rate) I booked a Deluxe Guest Room with balcony and on higher levels based on the information and photos provided on the Accor and hotel websites. Upon entering our room I immediately noticed that the room was not the one I booked. I queried this with Reception who informed me these rooms don’t have balconies and the upper levels were being renovated (incorrect info on websites). She kindly offered breakfast as a gesture of goodwill which we appreciated Cons The room wasn't serviced when we returned at 5.45pm. We let it go only to find a knock on the door shortly after from housekeeping who wanted to service our room. As this is the time most guests are getting ready to head out we declined The room opened to a courtyard accessible by other guests too! No privacy unless the blackout curtain was closed. The shampoo and conditioner dispensers in the bathroom had to be continually pumped with minimal product being released One would expect luxurious bath sheets not basic bath towels for a hotel promoting luxurious amenities Intermittent static on the TV so not possible to view some channels. The TV Guide showed the same programs 3 days in a row, all wrong. The Guest Directory accessed via QR is not readable with dark writing on dark background! Pros The guest room was clean and comfortable All staff we encountered were very friendly & helpful Breakfast and dinner was very good at Luma Location…
