Very friendly, welcoming & helpful staff. The check-in & check-out process was simple, & the bar staff made it very easy for me to settle in with a Happy Hour Espresso Martini.

I chose the Bed & Breakfast package with a King Room that included a very comfortable bed, toiletries & plenty of storage for my clothes & other belongings.
Breakfast was a large selection of delicious food, including pastries, cooked food, fruit, nuts, cheeses, meats, cereal & bircher muesli, to name just a few. It kept me loaded up for the day.

Perfect for visitors wanting to stay in a vibrant shopping and dining precinct & to explore Adelaide further.
I definitely recommend staying here.

The kids really enjoyed spending time in the pool. And being able to order food poolside made it easy to keep an eye on them. The rooms were spacious and the beds were extremely comfortable. The toiletries available smelled absolutely divine and nice on the skin.

There were no walk-in showers. Showers in the bath are difficult and dangerous for older guests. Daily room housekeeping was not provided on stays under 3 days. Stays over 3 days it was not provided unless you requested it. We expected daily room housekeeping when paying hotel rates. If it is not to be provided the room rate should be discounted. Over the phone the Reception and Room service staff had difficulties understanding our requests. Service requests were often incomplete requiring them to return. The Buffet breakfast at a cost of $25 was not worth it - food stations were constantly empty and we were continually requesting more food be provided and it the food very average. The coffee machine was malfunctioning constantly, it was continually in cleaning mode and spat boiling water and steam out - but it was undrinkable when we were able to get it to work.

Room was ok for the price but there was a large amount of light coming through, any noice in the hallway outside of the room could be heard clearly so sound proofing would go a long way. The water in the shower would be described as lukewarm at best which was really disappointing. After mentioning this on the first morning, it was apparently looked at but no change for the second day.

Very disappointing, nothing like other Grand Chancellor in Tasmania. Asked for a view, got a view of a brick wall. Corridors and rooms were quite warm, 28 degrees on arrival in the room (seem to be saving on Air Con). Pillows were lumpy and decor was tired. Bathroom floor was slippery when wet. Attended the restaurant and ordered a lamb Shoulder…unfortunately I received a dry lamb mince rissole on a small amount of pumpkin purée. On checkout I was charged over $6.00 for credit card handling fee!!! Parking downstairs is difficult as spaces are vey tight.

This reasonably priced hotel is in the city centre, close to to lots of major attractions. Considering how noisy Hindley St can be, the room I had on the 10th floor was a haven of calm and quiet. Check in was very slow as only one of the three reception desks was manned when I arrived. Servicing of the room was perfunctory at best, and needs to be improved. Rubbish was not taken away, a towel was left on the floor, carpet was not vacuumed etc. This was disappointing. Otherwise it was a pleasant place to stay for five nights.

The hotel is in a pretty convenient location. I got a room on the 6th floor. Everything in it was fairly dated: the lamps, curtains, wardrobe, TV and everything was all kind of tired. The bathroom was huge, and this hotel has Ideology brand bathroom products, which is a sign that management is doing what it can.

The other thing that this hotel loses points for is the hotel noise. It's a pretty quiet floor on level 6 at least, but through the night I was woken a few times because the doors aren't really soundproof at all, with a gap between the bottom of the door and the floor. No one was especially loud, but the sound of just normal voices and the lifts opening and closing carried into the room.

All in all, it was pretty good value for money: it cost about $150 for a night on the weekend night I stayed which was as good as it got that night in Adelaide.

This hotel is so affordable I had been searching for weeks trying to find a hotel to stay at that was close to the trams and easy to get around in the city we were Adelaide for Disney on Ice. This place was value for money and when I read all the reviews I was just praying all the reviews were true. YES it's true!
Customer service is wonderful, breakfast buffet is so delicious and worth every dollar, the location is the best, close to everything, caters to families, wonderful for the kids, the spa and pool was the best and heated. The boys and girls at reception are so friendly and always smiling.
We will only stay at this hotel when we are in Adelaide

Room was dirty when we first arrived, finding Bobby pins and bottle caps on the floor and hair in the bathroom.

Each day housekeeping missed something, from emptying bins, providing clean towels, and making the bed.

Only thing that really improved our stay was the friendly staff at checkin and the location of the hotel being only minutes walk to Rundle mall and local eateries.

Interesting to read other reviewers of recent times. The previous two reviews were scathing.

And I suspect that the new staff are not trained. I have been to this hotel numerous times over the past decade. For example, I turned up at 1pm and received a lecture that went on and on about 2pm checkin. The tone was didactic and belitting.

A properly trained person would say: all rooms are occupied at this moment but if you come back in 1/2 hour or so - we will be ready to go. Have to speak to people properly. We all know check-in time but due to many meetings, I had to come back at 7pm. The darling seemed to be enjoying a moment of power. Very sad as this place was excellent.

And same at the bar as well ! If you don't want to work in hospitality there are many other career choices.

Yes. Whether parking in the basement or overflow parking next door the price is still $18 per night with unlimited entry/exit. (Tickets are validated at the front desk)

There is self Parking in the basement of the hotel and if this is full, there is an overflow public carpark next door so you are always able to get parking. If you have to park in the public overflow park, just take the ticket to reception so they can validate it for you. Carpark entry is via Clubhouse Lane and the hotel can email you a map and details. Enjoy your stay! :)
