I booked High Tea/Coffee with a group of friends on Saturday 14th May 2022 and very disappointed with the experience. We were allocated a table to the side of the main area that had zero ambiance. The table didn't have a tablecloth and there was no nice china crockery. The table had very little effort put into it and it presented as more like a dining experience at a local hotel. We had to ask for water for the table and I thought the food was sparse. It certainly wasn't what I expected and I feel we were all very disappointed and I wouldn't recommend. I have had a number of High Tea's in Adelaide and certainly would not rate this one. feel as though they might have forgotten about our booking and thrown something together. Also it felt rushed and made very obvious we had to be out by 4 pm as that was the our allocated 2 hours.…
We arrived on a Thursday afternoon at the designated check-in time of 3.00pm for our one night stay. As we stepped into the spacious foyer, we were dismayed to see that there was a long queue of people in the reception area, waiting to check in. After reluctantly joining the long queue, we then waited 20 minutes until we finally reached the reception desk. Having stayed in many hotels in different parts of the world, we had never before experienced a wait such as this, just to check-in. Not a great start to our stay. When we eventually made it to our room on the 20th floor, we found that it was like stepping back in time. Whilst the room was certainly spacious, many of the fittings obviously dated back to decades gone by. The louvre doors on the built in wardrobes and in the bathroom doorway were from a long gone era. The deep brown marble features in the bathroom also dated from earlier times. The provision of bulk bottled toiletries in the bathroom was of a quality less than one would expect in supposedly 4 star hotel. The small built in bar fridge was virtually a museum piece and certainly displayed signs of decades of wear and tear. On a more positive note, the bed was comfortable and the block-out curtains provided a good level of darkness for a goodnight’s sleep. Breakfast which was included in the tariff was served in the Riverside Restaurant. A booking for a specific time slot was required and only 45 minutes was allowed for each breakfast sitting. Therefore, there was little opportunity for a long, leisurely breakfast. In any case, the breakfast offerings were somewhat limited, the food quality was very average and the restaurant was crowded and noisy. Fortunately checkout was much less crowded than check-in and therefore relatively. At checkout, our car parking ticket for the convention centre car park was endorsed by the receptionist thus providing us with complimentary parking for our overnight stay. Our one night stay at this hotel was OK but we will not necessarily be rushing back!…
Good selection available but not as good as pre-covid period. Wife wanted Congee and fried noodles as shown in youtube vid, but none there. It was wife's birthday treat but we weren't staying there. Asked if breakfast was open to outsiders, said yes. I also confirmed with reception upon arrival. After a short while the manager came to our table and said "your 45 minutes are up". We had to leave. Shocked as I have never experienced this before, and this is a 5 star hotel? No explanation given, we had to leave. Will never go back there again. Also, all the seats at our table, as many others i passed by, had dirty stains on them. Part of the plastic wood floor boards was missing and quite a few chairs in the dining room had their legs had chips in them (showing up white against the brown wood stain). Dining room is in need of a refurbishment. Very disappointed, especially concerning our treatment. Wouldn't recommend it to anyone.…
The digital devices are not to be trusted. We showed up and upon reception find out the IHG app had booked 3 suites for us. We needed 1. This turned checkin into a 30 minute process. Eden resolved the issue in our favor but it was the start of greater frustration. We get to the room and there is no mini bar. We’ve heard all the COVID excuses but plenty of IHGs have returned their mini bars. The TVs have an insane lag. So you don’t know if it on or off. But the absolute digital fail was the iPad used to order room service. We ordered 2 meals and a bottle of champagne. Then we ordered some Pepsi max. The phone rings and we get advised they need to sub out the champagne. They delivered the drinks. An hour passes, we call about the food. They say ok they will check. 20 mins passes we call and they ask what did we order? WT? So we wait and we wait and then we get a call to say there was no food order. It’s obvious to us they cancelled the first champagne order to replace it with a second one and in doing so deleted our dinner order. I ask to speak to the duty manager. He explains the kitchen is now closed. WT? 5 stars my A. So we had to order uber eats. The manager offered to pay for our uber and eats, we declined. In the end it’s 11:15 pm before we get dinner. Then final insult was although the champagne and Pepsi max were delivered together, we were charged 2 tray charges.…
Haven't stayed here since it was once a Hyatt hotel. Now the hotel generally isn't what it used to be back in it's hey-day, but it doesn't pretend to be. Services have clearly been slashed, but are still very good The place is clean and well-kept. The self-parking is a bit confusing, but we had a very good experiences in the bars and at breakfast (though I was a bit surprised the hollandaise on the eggs benedict was out of a packet!). The room was very nice, and for it's age, everything was in good order. It was also quiet, which is good for me as I rarely sleep in a large motel, waking up everytime someone flushes a toilet or opens a door. Certainly I thought the parking and breakfast deal was very good value and will consider staying again next time I am in Adelaide.
My sister and I had a one night stay at the Intercontinental Adelaide last night. Bit of a line up for check in but staff were very patient and friendly. We booked a 'city view' room and the view was great. Could see all the way to the sea and also a partial, and lovely, view of the river. We were on floor 17. We requested twin beds and these were provided. Beds were most comfortable. The room was spacious and well furnished. Big TV which could be angled to watch from bed :-) The bathroom was huge. Although a little dated it was incredibly clean. You can tell that this hotel was high spec and, in their day, the rooms would have been impressive and opulent. We certainly didn't mind that the bathroom was not furnished in the modern tiles now seen in newly built rooms. I liked it's retro opulence. Apparently the hotel is scheduled for room refurbishments. The room never felt stuffy and has good air temperature control. There are plenty of lifts and we were not ever waiting. We had a look at the pool which was outdoors. Gorgeous view from the pool. It's not huge but a lovely spot, overlooking the river, Adelaide Oval and the Festival Theatre. Breakfast was buffet style but able to order coffee and cooked eggs (in numerous ways). It was lovely and in a stylish room. Parking was included in our rate. The casino is right next door and very easy walking to loads of restaurants, shopping and entertainment at the Festival Theatre or Adelaide Oval. The Convention Centre is next door. Highly recommend staying here! Couldn't fault it.…
Here for anniversary on a package deal room, parking and breakfast for two at a very reasonable $199.00, on check in we even received to complimentary drinks, nice touch. Our room is spacious, very comfortable bed, a very decent size TV (nice change there normally very small) and a great view over the RiverTorrens towards Adelaide oval. Plenty to chose from at breakfast. Very handy to everything and the tram within the city centre is free, nice bonus. If you’re looking at staying in Adelaide check out their package deals, highly recommended.
Rooms are really outdated, narrow doorways to the bathroom and not even basic supplies like sanitary bags or a shower cap in the room. No bottle of water in the fridge - only a little carton of milk. Breakfast the next morning was PACKED and very uncomfortable. Won't be back.
We had a really great time. The room was clean. The staff were excellent and accomomdated all our requests. The Buffett was awesome. It was in a good location too. Overall good Customer Experience. Would definitely stay again.
The hotel service provided was very good, staff were friendly, facilities were clean and comfortable, breakfast was excellent with a great variety to choose from. Check in (mid-afternoon was a bit slow) and staff were apologetic. The room decor was nice but probably due for a refurbish.
