Okay, I've only been to the bar downstairs (though I never realised that they had a backpackers upstairs - I guess you learn something new all the time). Anyway the bar out the back isn't all that bad, and it was much better when you could enter through the side door. However when I visited this place over Christmas for... More

The hostel was definitely not the worst I have stayed in, but it could be better. I thought is was a bit weird at first that the hostel is above a pub, so bar is reception aswell. The light in the room didn't work at first, but they fixed that. They were friendly. But they should improve on bathrooms. no... More

Can't say anything about the accommodation, I've not stayed here, but the back bar is a gem. Forget what you see at the front, it's more than a pokie venue. Once inside you'll find a very cool, laid back, almost secret bar, wood paneling, grand mirrors and leather furniture....great. And being part of a backpackers they have some great drink... More

Very cheap hostel at $20 per night each it's in a perfect location! Hindley street is great for pubs and nightlife The beds are very comfy and bed sheets are clean but the room (4 bed mixed dorm) is dirty. There was rubbish under the bunk beds from previous guests and the room is thick with dust. I have pet... More

Even though this little hostel might be a bit hard to find, it's definitely worth trying for this price. It's really cheap, and fine for just staying a few nights. Spent nights in hostels that were a lot more horrible (and more expensive!) than this one. We stayed in the twelve bed dorm, which is fine if you bring your... More

This backpackers is very central in Adelaide and quite cheap. Unfortunately it is quite dirty and not really appealing. If you want to have a more enjoyable stay, better go to Oz Backpackers which is like 10min by foot away from the center.

Stayed in this hostel for 3 nights. After reading previous reviews I was a little worried but wow! Huge balcony very social. Nice pub downstairs called 'the little pub' so don't get lost on your way! Cheapest hostel in Adelaide and location is perfect. I stayed in 12 bed mixed dorm everyone was very respectful coming in at night. Good... More

...that defines what the hostel has best. PROS: Easy to reach from airport using bus; close to tram stop; opposite police station; located upstairs a bar with jackpot machines; McDonald's very near and other restaurants on the same street; a short walk away from Rundle Street and most attractions on North TCE (see map), including Adelaide Oval and Adelaide Zoo.... Not the greatest of places to stay if you are visiting Adelaide, however I was on a budget and this is truly on par with the definition of budget. Staff were friendly and helpful though as they work downstairs serving the drinks and attending the slot machines downstairs. If you're not comfortable with having to be in such an environment... This hostel has 3 amazing virtues...Location, location and location! Situated on Hindley Street and at a stone throw away from Rundle mall and the historic beehive corner, its location can’t get any better. Hindley Street is Adelaide’s (declining) red light district with several adult shops, restaurants, pubs, bars and cafes on both sides of the street. This place is above... More
