The hotel is centrally located near the mall and in the city centre very near to a tram station and everything is in walking distance. The hotel though is in need of some renovations. there are random passages that lead to absolutely no where and a staircase that leads you to a dead end. the elevator only goes up to... More

Attended a 21st function upstairs in the balcony room. Was pleasantly surprised at quality of standard wines served. Seemed better than par for a function like this. The two young guys in charge couldn't keep The two open fires going which was a shame as these added to the ambience. Food was satisfactory run of the mill cocktail food. I... More

We weren't looking for a 5 star hotel with 5 star restaurant. We wanted somewhere to stay overnight somewhere between the Central Markets and the Festival Centre, How delighted we were to be welcomed so well and given wonderful service. The people who keep this hotel going are what made our stay more than a bed overnight. The atmosphere in... More

I have not stayed at this hotel, but after attending a black tie function there, I never would. I have no idea when the ball room was renovated last, but IT NEEDS TO BE. My wife and I wandered into a dank, musty overcrowded space and witnessed under dressed waiting staff (hoodies, sweaters and such), who really didn't care. The... More

Wonderfully positioned in the middle of town, within a block or two of the market, dining precinct, Rundle Mall and Hindley Street nightlife, this was exactly what I was looking for. Small, old & beautiful, the hotel is full of charm with a stunning bar (incl, open fire), outside drinks/dining area, cocktail bar, pokies, great meals, balcony breakfast, and genuinely... More

We traveled as a group of friends, so we booked the family suite. It was clean and comfortable. Breakfast was included in our package which was lovely. The hotel has a lovely quirky historic charm to it. Our room was spacious and we really enjoyed our stay. Reception was lovel, very chatty and it easy to check in and out.... More

Really disappointing Did not look like the photos on the Internet. There is a difference between "vintage" and rundown. Extremely noisy place to walk into and then have to find the reception actually in the gaming room. I didn't mind the antique lift as it did work but that's all about all that did. The room was hot and musty.... More

We thought we had booked a nice enough hotel through booking.com, however, the pictures did not marry up with the hotel. Poor plastering jobs in the rooms, stained carpets, dated bathroom. Worst of all- loud music playing from the breakfast room-turned club at night, reverberating through the floor boards. Non-empathic staff at night given the worst night sleep we have... More

This place is comparatively cheap, (which includes an ensuite) given its location in the city centre and having a tram stop right outside the front door. However it is a real rabbit warren and the rooms are really dark. You wake up and feel like you are in the twilight zone having no idea what time it is. The lift... More

Hotel is OLD, dirty, and smelly. Elevator is a relic and both times we were in it a member of staff had to go and make sure the doors were closed properly so it would function. We took one look at the rooms and did an about face. I will say the staff were understanding and helpful.
