We have always been a fan of Hamilton Island. Our last stay was at Palm bungalows and Beach Club so we decided to treat ourselves to Beach club again for 2 nights on Valentines day. Needless to say, this place is luxurious, quiet and right...More
Beach Club is 100% worth the $$. My partner and I had such a fantastic time. From the minute we stepped off of the plane and were greeted at the airport, we were treated to the finest hospitality. We arrived early, therefore our room wasn’t...More
Enjoyed our time at the Beach Club. Lovely well equipped well thought out rooms. Great view out to sea from the bed.
Breakfast was very good although clearly not enough outside tables - this is where you need to be as inside is to warm...More
We recently enjoyed the most magical degustation dinner at the Beach Club. Our table was literally beside the sand and the infinity pool, and we had an interrupted view of the water. The only people with a better view were the honeymooners who had their...More

Thank you Colemann 22 and Steve P. I have just tried to request the room we want, have gone ground floor due to stairs and a bad knee, BUT they dont allocate rooms until the day before you arrive, which means we wont know what we are getting until we arrive. Never come across such a situation in all our years of traveling, and now not sure what to do. We are actually considering cancelling.

Hello I was on Hayman Island when the cyclone hit. I consider myself lucky to be alive, thanks to all the staff at The One and Only resort. I did stay at the Beachclub a couple of days prior to the cyclone. The whole of the Whitsundays have sustained considerable damage. Most of the lush tropical vegetation was flattened I saw Hamilton Island on the Thursday post cyclone and it was greatly effected.
The Staff at the Beachclub will no dought look after you as they are wonderful but will you get a tropical holiday experience that includes all the lovely fauna and flora I am not so sure.
In my opinion It will take a year or so to be back to it's fabulous state.
Possibly the water sports have been effected if the resort lost sails to their catamarans etc, it may be worth asking the resort what's not up and running.
There is also the possibility that the outer reef platoon has also been damaged, as no visit to the wonderful Barrier Reef should be missed, I would also ask the resort if visits to the outer reef and snorkelling are still available.
Hope this helps.
