This island is a total paradise. But be aware that the accommodation is very average so if that is what you are going for, think again. It is 10/10 if you want to dive, snorkel, fish, turtle watch, etc. The staff are so nice especially in the marine office. The clientele was

Great Spot! We just left the resort, and want to share positive feedback, but guidance as we appreciated reading it from others before we left. If you are a diving family – great place to consider. Diving is excellent, with a very professional and safety mindful staff – but a

Thank you so much Aquanuts for you wonderful review 'Great Spot for Diving Families' recommending Heron Island if you like diving, nature and simple good accommodation. With 30 years of diving experience you certainly know what you are talking about and we appreciate you taking the time to reiterate to future guests the conditions that maybe experienced over the edge of the reef. We also thank you for the very positive feedback for our hard working team and we really hope we have another opportunity to welcome you and your family back to Heron Island for some more diving adventures.

Heron Island is a beautiful natural park and the wildlife and nature are amazing. But and there are a lot of buts. For the price you pay the quality is very poor. The rooms are basic, which is ok. But the cleaning daily is poor and lazy. The cleaners could not bother even

Hello Glen I can verify both the email and the 1800 number you have listed in your question are the correct contact details for our reservations team for Heron Island Resort. The owners of Heron Island, the Aldesta Hotel Group, own properties in British Columbia as well as in Australia. Our reservations team is based in Australia but if they are responding to other enquiries your call could go through to the reservations team based in Vancouver.

Hello / does the island have wifi and mobile phone cover?
Hello Lance EM Heron Island does have wifi available for purchase but there is no mobile reception so you would have to switch your calls over to use wifi to take calls on your mobile phone.

Hi Jennifer due to Heron Island's location on the Southern Great Barrier Reef stingers are not generally an issue at anytime around Heron Island so a stinger suit is not required although they might help with protection from sunburn when on the beach and snorkelling.
