This is such a beautiful island with great snokling, lots to see. I know the accommodation is old , but is needs to be fixed up, badly needs maintenance and a coat of paint. The fridges in the rooms do not close properly and are iced up , glasses and cups are chipped, bathrooms need a good clean and doors...

What a wonderful place to visit, such a unique, untouched paradise. EVERYTHING ELSE was a disaster. There was no communication about any of the activities I had been booked into as part of a package so I spent my first day running around trying to schedule my activities so no relaxation for me. They make you attend a highly irrelevant...

I hate to complain, I really do but I'm 24hrs into a 6 day stay and ready to leave. The views are stunning, absolutely gorgeous but there is an absolute lack of facilities. I'm paying $765/ night for my self and 3 kids and for that I expected more. I don't mind the basic room but the lack of water...

Hard to describe the beauty of this island, but it is everything their website says. Here are a couple things to keep in mind: 1. The ferry ride over can be challenging ( depending on weather ) - the ferry staff did an amazing job taking care of people who had trouble with the choppy ride, but come prepared: sea...

Loved it, came 10 yrs ago and I think this time was a better experience for us. Nothing has changed, rooms or layout, probably needs updating.... Bar was great, music and setting awesome. Food this time was very average and needs attention, but really you come for the wildlife and setting. Staff were all very friendly and helpful and even...

Fantastic location and pretty good accommodation. Staff are great and generate a very comfortable feeling amongst guests. If you are after "luxury accommodation" then this is not your place....but if you want to be able to see rays, sharks and turtles as you wander along pristine sand, snorkel amongst coral and reef fish right off the beach, and get to...

We stayed a week at Heron Island Resort in a "Reef" room, one step up from the base "Turtle" rooms. The room had beds for three, was spacious and quite comfortable, although sparsely furnished, and had a view of the sea and beach from its balcony (it was upstairs in a block of 6). It was not air-conditioned but there...

A Wonderful relaxing holiday swimming with turtles, rays and sharks and an array of colourful fish. Watching turtles lay their eggs and make their way back to the waters edge - witnessing this was a moving experience. The Bird life was extremely noisy but wonderful when you know what it means after having gone the bird walking tour. Some may find...

Visited Heron Island on a work Xmas party November 2016. Wow it really is a paradise, pristine water, wonderful sea life and excellent snorkelling to see it all. The accommodation is very basic and if you get the chance to book a waterfront unit do so. We were put up the back which was hot (no air con) and very...
