Sailfish on Fraser is 200 metres from the beach and being half way up the eastern beach we are central to all the wonderful attractions on Fraser Island. After your busy day 4 wheel driving return to your luxury apartment and relax on your own personal patio or the communal deck, enjoy the pool and BBQ or take advantage of our DVD, books and games library in your home away from home.
Our family stayed for 4 nights at Sailfish on Fraser during the second week of the Qld winter school holidays in 2021. First, we loved our stay at Sailfish. The location is amazing, the apartments are very roomy, warm & have everything you will need. Basically pack food & some personal creature comforts & you are set. Our hosts Kyle & Ange were fantastic, super relaxed & super helpful. Get this, they even drove to the other side of the island to assist some guests who became bogged in the middle of the night to get back to Sailfish.... that is exceptional service!! There are lots of things to do in & around Happy Valley. We spent most of our time exploring with our children. Kyle & Ange offered a few tips on where to venture & had all the local info on road closures etc. Thanks for a great time Kyle & Ange, we really enjoyed our time at Sailfish.

Very clean and tidy. On site management who are very friendly. They make you feel like you are part of the family. Wonderful amenities including pool, BBQ area, undercover parking, dishwasher, washing machine, spa bath, ensuite. These units are located very close to the beach. We always look forward to our next visit in August this year.

Loved staying here for our family of 4. Had everything we needed, was close to all the places we wanted to visit. Easy to get up to Orchard beach from here, even managed to get up to the very top of Fraser from here , managing the tides easily. Beds were comfortable. Kitchen well equipped. Lounge really large. Water hot. Was an awesome stay. Only negative was we stayed upstairs and had to carry all our stuff around the back and up the stairs but not the end of the world but we liked the privacy of our own balcony.

Great size apartments. We went with other family members and had apartments side by side which was excellent for convenience. Excellent location, nearby pub/restaraunt, shop and health amenities. Quite central on the Island for visiting other local beauty spots. Only a short drive to Eli Creek, Champagne Falls (highly recommended) and Mackenzie Lake. Lovely friendly owners who were happy to help, advise and look after us. And the bonus of freshly caught fish.

+ Ideal location for visiting Fraser's attractions, fully self contained apartment. Located next to beach access. - No heating and it gets cold in winter made for uncomfortable evenings. No extraction fans in bathrooms or maybe they were broken.

Thank you for your review, we agree that Sailfish is perfectly located on this beautiful world heritage listed island! And yes we have experienced a cooler than average few weeks this winter here on the island. In our efforts to be sustainable, Sailfish is 100% self sufficient providing power through our solar system with a back up gas generator meaning we unfortunately we cannot accommodate heaters at this stage.

Enjoyed the stay here with 2 young kids. They loved the pool each afternoon. Units were great with full sized fridges. Plenty of undercover parking for 4wds, big carspaces. Only reason it lost a star was that the bedrooms were really dusty (rest of place was nice n clean). A great holiday

We really enjoyed our stay here at Sailfish. Apartment had everything we needed and the staff were fantastic. Quiet, even though it was fully booked with lots of families. Close to shops, bistro and fuel stop. Walk to the beach or enjoy a coffee on the balcony looking out to the sea. Highly recommend for convenience to the major interest spots.

Beware of the payment at this lodge. You have to pay full amount in advance and you will not get any money back in spite of canceling your stay more than 14 days a head of you stay. I have been in touch with the tourist board concerning this. / Lage

Loved Fraser Island and all the more so for the comfort at Sailfish Apartments. We were in Unit 7 with another couple and it was spacious, clean, and had the best view of all the units. Wonderful to fall asleep to the sound of the waves.
Julie and Phil were friendly, informative and looked after this beachfront complex beautifully. I can't imagine a better place to stay on Fraser Island. Happy Valley is in the middle of the Eastern Beach.
We hired a 4WD at Hervey Bay and took our own provisions - had fish for dinner 3 nights in a row - caught off the beach out the front. There is a bistro and convenience store as well if you run out of essentials.
Make sure you stay on the Eastern side of the island - far more to see and do without having to cross the bumpy island track from the West (Kingfisher is on the western side).

"We prefer the ground level units because we'd been told they have been refurbished and also because we don't like climbing the stairs. I think you could get some floor noise from the room above, but we have been very lucky not to have anyone staying above us. The top floor apartments have a great balcony."
