Loved staying here for our family of 4. Had everything we needed, was close to all the places we wanted to visit. Easy to get up to Orchard beach from here, even managed to get up to the very top of Fraser from here , managing the tides easily. Beds were comfortable. Kitchen well equipped. Lounge really large. Water hot. Was an awesome stay. Only negative was we stayed upstairs and had to carry all our stuff around the back and up the stairs but not the end of the world but we liked the privacy of our own balcony.

About our 5th visit to Fraser Island. We have stayed at a number of places over the years, but Sailfish was tops for self contained accommodation. We also used the Happy Valley bar and restaurant too. Good location, pity the fishing was crap.

What a shame about the fishing. Never mind, maybe next visit will be better. We look forward to seeing you all again. Brian & Chrissie

Having been to the island about a bazillion times (I live in Hervey Bay) I was looking for a nice spot to stay with my family that was close enough to civilisation but not too close to the backpacker all night events nor the Brizzo 4WD party camps. Sailfish is just GREAT. It has under building parking with car washing facilities, large modern rooms and a shared barbecue eating area. It is walking (staggering) distance from the pub and shop so no risk of doing something silly late at night. We met other people there at the barbecue area and had a great time talking laughing and sharing stories reminiscent of the good old days before mobile phones and internet destroyed true social interaction. Price was good and the hosts friendly and on site so there a level of security. All in all if you are looking for a place to base yourself and your family while exploring the wonders of Fraser but are not into beach camping nor resort accommodation Sailfish is a place you should investigate. N.B. The widget wanted a date when I was there but did not allow me to chose the actual date which was a few months before so no I was not there in Nov last year.

Top spot to explore Fraser from. Have been holidaying on Fraser Is for more than 20 years, first time staying at Sailfish. Previously stayed at Yidney Rocks but other guests too much in your face there. Sailfish perfect set up for as much privacy as you want. Fully self contained large units. Easy on and off the beach, inside dingo fence, plenty of undercover parking, wash down area, walk to shop and resteraunt. Hosts wonderful and accommodating. Highly recommended, this is where we will stay in the future.

Great facilities and the apartment had everything we needed and more. If we are ever lucky enough to return to Fraser we will definitely come here again!
