Novotel Surfers Paradise Hotel enjoys a prime location close to the beach and local attractions, which guests frequently commend. Its modern, clean rooms with stunning views are a highlight, though some visitors report they can be noisy due to street sounds and loud music at night. While the breakfast variety and comfortable beds are well-liked, opinions on other amenities and room layouts are mixed, with mentions of outdated facilities and maintenance issues. Service experiences vary, with both commendations for staff helpfulness and criticisms of slow elevators and check-in processes. Despite its positives, several guests question the hotel's value for money.

The hotel has a great location and we booked an ocean view room and we're put on the 26th floor which had great views. The room was comfortable and clean but a little dated,as others have stated the lifts can be a nightmare and 1 was out of order our entire stay. Don't waste your money on breakfast as this was the worst we have ever encountered worldwide in a Novotel it was like a school canteen with limited choice and a 30 minutes wait for an omelet even though we had pre payed for it we did not bother our last 2 days and eat elsewhere

Perfect central location. Everything you could want is basically right underneath the hotel. Chemist/bars/timezone/ice cream/Woolworths/restaurants/shops etc.

Reception staff were very helpful, provided all relevant information. There was a welcome gift provided for holding gold Accor status, a couple of donuts in the fridge.
The downstairs cafe is a lovely comfortable area to enjoy a coffee or a cold drink.

The room we stayed in (Deluxe Ocean View) room 2207 was modern, clean and beautifully renovated. The TV placement however, was terrible, it’s in the corner of the room, it is very hard to see from the bed and it does not tilt/angle out.

The hallway noise was very loud during the day and night. You can clearly hear the doors banging, people whistling and talking loud and hear the elevator ding’s loudly, (I would highly recommend that the hotel lower the volume of the elevator ding).

The Spa jets were broken during our visit.
The heated Pool was nice however the bottom of the pool could do with a clean. We did utilise the laundry during our visit, which was $5 per load in the washing machine & $5 in the dryer. It was easy and efficient to use. The pool/gym/laundry are open until 10pm at night.

The parking is part of the below shopping centre car park, $22 a night, using number plate recognition it was easy to get in and out of the car park (although it would be tight if you didn’t have a small vehicle).

We would stay here again (and in fact- have already, I am just delayed in posting this haha).

There was an issue afterwards where i was charged an amount on my card almost a month after my stay, without being asked.

It was an amount that should have been covered by my Accor reward points but was cancelled. I wasn’t particularly happy about having my card charged almost a month later. I have also not received any Accor points or eligible nights for this stay - Which I will follow up on.

Alas, still a good hotel.

Yes, this hotel is dated, but very clean and comfortable. The staff are friendly, with particular mention to Lis in reservations who was exceptionally friendly, helpful and professional. She went out of her way to assist me, despite me messing up my reservation on more than one occasion. Very much appreciated! The Novotel is in an excellent central location and our room was surprisingly well insulated from street noise. Self-Parking is $20p/n with a handy number plate recognition system for coming and going. Beds were comfortable and towels provided for beach and pool. Only suggestion would be that it could do with a little more lighting over the mirror in the bathroom area. Also, the men's bathroom near the breakfast area badly due for a renovation. But otherwise, thank-you for a good stay :)

Cutting corners at all levels starting from lack of the convenient inclusions in the bathroom, the flooding shower floor due to lack of any barrier into the rest of the bath area and lack of a different type of pillows for a a comfortable stay ! . The breakfast bar has not got any type of cheese as usual anywhere else! Coffee self-serve quality in this bar is the lowest ever unless you buy it separate inside the same bar!!!!!!!!!!
The worst issue I have discovered after years with Accor that the membership privileges in any bookings or restaurants are not available not only in public holidays but there is an additional what is called : Blackout holidays dates list which has been released to me when I submitted my concerns to the reception .You can name it fine print conditions ! So if you are using this membership only for formal holidays then this Accor is not the right go for you. It is just a waste of money .Regardless a lot of Accor properties mainly Novotels are gradually disappearing or rejecting the membership privileges from all states which I believe they are not continuing this business name anymore!!!
So the main positive issues about this Novotel Accor is the location in addition to this exceptional brilliant and friendly general manager called Lorrelle Barnett who does her best to keep things going otherwise I feel really sorry for what is left in Accor Novotels !
I am afraid I have already destroyed 2 of the 4 family membership cards and kept the other 2 till I leave the hotel (Accor) in few days for the last time

I'm not sure why this hotel has so many bad reviews! We are currently staying here with our 2 young children and we have had a great experience. We booked here as it was at least $1000 cheaper than other places for the dates we needed, and it was in a great location. We booked a deluxe room with 2 double beds and it looks exactly as the website shows - its clean and modern. There has been a bit of a wait when using the 4 lifts...but the hotel is very busy and it's to be expected. We would liken it to waiting for a lift on a cruise ship. We have had a buffet breakfast included each morning - great variety of food and really good Nespresso Pod coffee. Again very very busy but haven't had to wait more than a few mins for a table. Our only issue with the hotel is the car park - it isn't owned by the hotel and you aren't guaranteed a spot. We paid $170 upfront but after driving around for 30 mins decided we didn't want to do this each day - the hotel refunded us the parking. We ended up parking in Cypress street carpart which is an open air one - $6 for the whole day. I think people will complain about anything and have too high expectations. This hotel is exactly as we expected and comparable to other 4 star places we have stayed on the Gold Coast! We have had a great time and we stay again!

First night the air-conditioning unit leaked and we needed 6 towels on the floor. For moved to another room at 2am and then got moved to another room the following day. The safe in the new room is too small to fit a laptop. There are no doors between the master room and kids room (see photo). The buffet restaurant is good and has a reasonable choice. The air-conditioning in the new unit doesn't show the correct temperature. Can hear all the noise through the windows even on the 22nd floor. The windows were taped (see photo). The lifts (2 of them) weren't functioning and we were told that it would take 48 hours to get a spare part, but by Day 10 one of the lifts was still not functioning. The lift never stopped on our floor unless we pressed the up button and people were waiting as long as 25 minutes to get a lift during the morning and evening hours. The bath was stained. My kids broke a glass by mistake and they came to clean it up during their daily clean, except didn't do a great job. Our 8 year old ended up with a piece of glass in his foot (and we found 2 other pieces) (see photo). Their was long black curly hair on floor in the bathroom (none of us have long black curly hair). The railings on the balcony (really didn't feel very safe with them). When we complained it took two levels of management before they acknowledged the problems (most not all of them). The fire escape had the lights out and glass all over the floor. Of everyone we spoke to, there wasn't a single person who was happy with their accommodation. Certainly not the hotel we will use again ever. NO VOTE L(ikely) is the new name we've given the hotel. Never EVER had such a bad experience at a hotel in more than 30 years of travelling considering it was around $275 AUD a night! Oh and if you have a car use the Bruce Bishop Car Park - It's a lot cheaper than using the one under the hotel and only one block walk away.

Arrived early (12.30pm), joined the (Non existent) Priority carpeted line that had no Receptionist and when I finally got my turn at the counter, I was able to go through the whole check-in process only to be told that I was too early and to return after 2pm. When I returned at 4pm, the lines were almost out the door and still no Priority Check-in assistant and went through the whole check-in process again, unlike our non-Accor member friends.
Rooms were very much below average. I am unsure where the photos in their website are from but I didn't see or experience anything like what is shown. The bed was like a skateboard that moved all around the room. The fridge leaked continuously, and we were told to use our mobile phone to call reception as "we don't usually answer the house phone" ??????? We had to call multiple times for towels to clean the leaking water on the floor after we were told by reception that they had checked the fridge and "there is nothing wrong with it"
Breakfast area looked more like a school camp mess hut. We searched 4-5 tables before we could find a table (and chairs) clean enough to sit at. Breakfast was free for us, yet we still chose to eat elsewhere on our second morning. We checked in as a Platinum Accor member with friends who were not members. They were given a higher-level room with great views, we were given a room on a lower level and right next to the lift, which obviously operated all night. The lift lobby and corridors were so noisy.
If you are looking for a very cheap hotel, or are on schoolies, this is the place for you. There are plenty of better maintained and customer friendly hotels in the area that I would suggest that you look closer at, as I will be in the future.

The hotel is well situated in the middle of surfer's Paradise. The room is generally functional and clean. The bed and pillows are very comfortable. The view from the balcony is great. However the room is poorly illuminated and under-equipped. The room does not have a ceiling light, a corner standing light or a desk lamp. Once the sun has set, it is too dark to try and read a book while sitting on the chair. While I have mostly come for pleasure, I did have some business to attend to. I was not able to do it on the desk because there was no desk light. On 8/3/23, despite leaving written message for the room cleaner in the morning, ringing housekeeping in this afternoon, ringing concierge in the evening, and ringing reception at night, no additional light was brought to me on that day or for the rest of my stay. The shower screen has a big gap at the bottom and the whole bathroom is flooded every time one has a shower. I have never stayed in a hotel room in which ceiling lights, corner standing lights, and desk lamps are not standard equipment. Many would provide bowls, plates and forks, but one cannot eat a slice of cake or bowl of cereal in this room because no plate, bowl, or fork are provided.
If you bring your own mop, reading light, forks, spoons, and plates, I'm sure you'll have a great time.

We specifically booked a room with a sea view, I asked when we checked in that this is what we were getting. We were very disappointed to be told that it wasn’t available due to a maintenance problem but we would be moved to a room with a sea view the next day. The room we were given was adequate but very noisy as it faced the Main Street so we had a poor nights sleep. The next morning we packed our cases and went to reception to change rooms, I overheard the staff discussing that we were not the only ones in this situation. We had to leave our luggage with them and were told we would get the room we had paid for but had to wait until after 2pm ( check out time).
The new room was fine, on the 22nd floor and after about 10.30pm reasonably quiet. The hotel is having an external upgrade so part of the external area was shut off. The pool area was small and needs some work. We used the sun beds around the pool but not the pool itself as whenever we were there it was very full of, and completely taken over by small children.
The hotel is in a central location in Surfers Paradise and we found it easy to walk to all the attractions we wanted to visit.

we checked in yesterday and the staff who helped our checked in nicely offered good value of waiving some fees. we were super happy about it and he actually made our day after long drive to surfers paradise.
that evening, I noticed that I paid about $600 more than I was supposed to pay. I called to front desk and asked details what I paid for or explanation of this price gap. the guy who answered my phone said he would check with his manager and called me back. few mis later he called my room and there was mistake and would credit or refund $300. and I asked again why it's only $300 and asked what's inside the bill and he connected the call to his manager, who's name is Alex. I thought he already knew the purpose of the call but he waited for me to explain again so I did. and he asked my room number.. I assume he must know the room number since I'm calling from my room but I answered his question. however I mistakenly gave him wrong answer, and he was like "nope. you are calling from XXXX. I started feel ashamed..I'm not Native speaker and I could be wrong for one number but his tone and manner was like.... not very good.

1. $600 price Gap. He was so confident that I had a wrong calculation and said "Open your booking confirmation email" and he was trying to calculate together with me. after summing up all numbers, it was confirmed my number was right.

2. fee waiver offered at check in.
I mentioned him that we got some fee waive offer when we checked in. Then he was like "Nope. we can't make any kinds of offer like that". Again his attitude was really not right as the manager of hospitality. we didn't ask any kinds of offer and we didn't even expected anything. but the check-in staff was just so kind enough to give this offer and we very happily took it. if this offer was really something like can't be offered thing, this manager, Alex, could say "I'm sorry but there was a miscommunication".
I felt like he was playing game like 'okay I'll give you 1, but I will take 2 back'.

for those issue 1 and 2, Alex didn't express any apologies for their mistake and miscommunication. I felt none of respect during this conversation with him and I really hope his attitude would be more respectful to his customer in the future.

For us there was a $3 per day discount for parking. If I remember correctly we paid $18 per day for parking through the hotel or if you did not do that it was $21 per day.
