I visit Rockhampton three times a year for work, and this was my first time at the Denison. I was pleasantly surprised. Large room. High ceilings. Ornate furniture. A comfortable four post bed. The room is equipped with all the necessities you need, and high speed free wifi. Beautiful building in a town that I enjoy to visit.

Six years ago, my love affair with the Denison began. As a career counsellor for a hotel management educator. I travel the Queensland coast from SC to Cairns talking to school leavers about this industry and the career paths within it. My days are long and exhausting with multiple classes to speak with and often a lot of driving on... More

I spent 1 night here on a business trip. The staff are friendly and efficient. The room is AMAZING. So beautifully decorated and comfortable. The king size 4 poster bed was very comfortable. I didn't want to get out of the large spa/shower. Breakfast was included in the price and was very tasty and filling. I will definitely be back... More

The biggest bed I have ever slept in!! The Hotel is a Heritage Building and the rooms décor reflects this. A very commanding four poster king bed at one end. A lovely couples spa at the other end. I was initially disappointed the room was fully open plan (toilet is separate) But that feeling soon passed. There was plenty of... More

I loved this hotel, the area it is situated is not great, but the hotel is lovely. Room was big and elegant. The staff were lovely and the included breakfast was good. There was free WiFi as well. There is a Steakhouse across the road that got a little rowdy at night but it didn't bother me at all. If... More

Had dinner at the pub across the road, really good atmosphere, staff very welcoming dinner was great. Full cooked breakfast at hotel was provided, cooked by a really nice young lady named Taylor, buffet style so you... More

I chose this accommodation as I was having surgery and had to stay a couple of nights in Rockhampton. What a grand old lady - used to be an administration building for the railway and built in 1885. The rooms are modern but decorated to look 'old' with lovely, antique-looking furniture and drapery. The 4.8m ceiling adds to the wow... More

Stayed here for business on a recent trip, booked by corporate travel. The Denison is a throw back to old days of style with ornately furnished rooms with the anomaly of a spa bath in the corner! The room is large and the high ceilings make it seem even more so. It is very comfy. Yes it does have a... More

Beautiful rooms, more than fair pricing. Breakfast included is okay. Staff are excellent, building is elegant and well appointed. Will recommend this to everyone and will definitely stay here each visit to Rockhampton

This is a beautiful quaint old building and the rooms are furnished with reproduction furniture and four poster beds. Our room smelled a bit musty on checking in, a bit like an old museum. The downside of this place is its location, the noise from the freight railway line that runs right past the hotel kept us both awake at... More
