My 14 year old daughter and I stayed her in January '15. The resort I would say caters more to adults than it does to younger children and there are not many children around. The grounds are not large but they have a lot of units there and a lot have a pool view. We were on the ground floor...

This was an apartment in a quiet area of Port Douglas but only minutes away from the centre, the staff were very helpful, the apartment was well laid out and thought had gone into provision of equipment and layout, a nice touch was the small patio area, the swimming pool was in a beautiful setting, I was able to use...

We stayed for 7 nights from 28 December -4 January. The location was perfect: a 5 minute walk to the centre of town, the beach, and the marina. The room was clean and spacious enough for our needs. The pool area was great and there were BBQ facilities available. My only complaint is that we wanted a parking space for...

This was my second stay at The Port Douglas Retreat. I was going to book somewhere different this time, but decided to stay at The Port Douglas Retreat because(going from my first stay) I knew that I was guaranteed to have a nice time. And I was right. My stay was relaxing and effortless. The owners are so welcoming and...

Booked four nights and had a great stay. Warm welcome by staff who were very helpful with local knowledge. Rooms were clean with basic amenities including cooking facilities and decent size fridge. AC was very noisy so ear plugs are a good idea as it's very hot during the high season so AC is essential.. Comfortable beds and nice pillows....

We are a young couple and this place was pretty good to stay at on our first holiday without the family. It's location was one of the major benefits in the beautiful town with a relaxed lifestyle. That's because it was under 2 mins to the street, beach and warf where a lot of tours depart. The room was exactly...

Our flight from Alice Springs flew into Cairns a few minutes late and we missed our shuttle connection ride to Port Douglas. We ended up having to wait until after 10:30p.m. for the shuttle to arrive back from Port Douglas. Anyhow, we finally arrived after midnight. Fortunately I had the directions and map to Port Douglas Retreat as the driver...

The pool area with all the palm trees is as relaxing and peaceful as the pictures show. Our apartment was very nice and great to cook at the BBQ down by the pool. David was a perfect tour guide and they helped us book 2 snorkel days and Kuranda plus told us all the stops to make on our self...

Very nice place to stay. Room was very clean and comfortable. The pool as everywhere, was spotlessly clean. Its very closely located to the main area of shops and restaurants. Owners were very welcoming and knowledgable about the area and had great advice on trips. Only thing i wished they had, was a vending machine as on arrival, to find...
