Air-con not working we were told they were waiting for a part so they knew it wasn't working when we booked in also booked out so couldn't move us to another room. The only way to keep the room cool was to sleep with the sliding doors open at night which was very noisy in the morning - rubbish truck... More

People who work there are great. Central location is good in terms of being good to venues. We stayed in room 108 which was directly opposite noisy pubs and shouting patrons so not a good spot if you want to get a reasonably early night sleep. The room is so dated and smelly. Air con is central so you could... More

The location of Club Tropical is good, close to the markets and restaurants. But that also works against it if you get a room on the Macrossan Street side. We got a room which was right opposite the bars and with loud music and patrons shouting it made for a few sleepless nights till 1 or 2 am. So make... More

This is not the place to stay if you want all the bells and whistles of a resort but is great value for independent travellers . Bear in mind that this property is self-serviced apartments not a hotel so the rooms are only serviced weekly although extra towels are available at the desk as are pool towels. The location is... * No offer of fresh towels and no face cloths provided. * Only 1 spare toilet roll (which ran out). * No spare rubbish bin liners. * Dishwasher removed mid-week onwards for maintenance - no notification and area left dirty.

Comfortable rooms, aircon is a bit antiquated and hard to manage, some of the decor looking down at heel but everything worked. Pool area is well laid out an dteh kids enjoyed the space. Our room had a balcony kitchen which worked a treat and was well equipped, located close to the supermarket on the main drag meant we avoided... More

This is a central as you will get in Port Douglas. The main eating and social area is directly across the road as is the bay area. The rooms or apartments are refurbished and with comfortable beds and good showers. They may have been refurbished many times, the complex is a bit of a warren however once you find your... More

My husband and I have just stayed a week in Club Tropical in a refurbished Club studio room. The room was excellent overlooking Macrossan Street - thought it maybe noisy, but not at all. Walking distance to all restaurants and to the marina and the beach! Totally recommend this Resort!!
