Stayed 5 nights in a pool access king room. It was spacious with plenty of draw and hanging space. The hotel was extremely busy and we had to book in for every restaurant, including for breakfast. All staff we came into contact with was super friendly and helpful. Booked a cabana and staff patrolled it often always asking if we needed anything. There is so much pool space you don’t ever feel it’s crowded. Port Douglas was very busy and if you’re coming then do plan ahead and book wherever you can.

We had a terrific holiday at the Sheraton Port Douglas! We stayed in a lagoon suite which was a good size for two adults and a toddler with beautiful views out over the lagoon to the ocean. Staff were friendly and accommodating and the room was kept very clean throughout our stay. My absolute favourite feature was the sparkling water fountains on each floor and the reusable water canisters in the room to stay hydrated in the heat, such a great touch! The included breakfast was great, although make sure you make a reservation on checking in as it gets busy. If you’re staying for a few days or have small children there’s a nearby laundry who who’ll wash, dry and fold your clothes before delivering them to the hotel and there’s a shuttle that will transport you around PD for $6 per person.

Seriously disappointing! We booked through Qantas for a ‘king lagoon access room’. Apparently this means the small lagoon access pool, not the large lagoon access pool. Essentially one looks like a kiddy paddle pool and the other links up to a larger pool with sand/daybed. The assistant manager Evan and his staff have no care or congratulations for the fact it was our honeymoon - despite putting this on our booking and telling the reception staff when we checked in. Staff have no idea of what’s going on including misinforming us on how to book transport to restaurants, causing us to be late for a booking and not moving luggage when they said they would. The fact it is outdated, the lack of service and care of staff made this place overpriced and a disappointing visit on our honeymoon. Book elsewhere!

Pool! Pool! Pool! Everywhere you look is another stunning pool! First level rooms all have cases to these pools which was super fun for a quick dip from your hotel room. Sadly there was no Buffet due to Covid but we all got big breakfasts with starters, drinks, and desserts. Short drive Into town for snorkeling and exploring around Port Douglas. Such a great trip at such an amazing beach front resort!!! 🌟🌟🌟

Writing this review with one night left and have to say the negatives unfortunately are outweighing the positives. Let’s start with the good: 1. Great pools. Clean and a good temperature - very impressed 2. Service was good by the pool, quick to bring food and drink and the staff were always very friendly 3. Our Villa was beautiful The negatives: 1. Letting in over 100 dancers for a dance competition held on the grounds for 3 days. Loud, obnoxious 18-20 somethings making noise all hours and being disrespectful to other guests. This is a 5 star resort and bookings like this should not happen. 3 days at the end of our week ruined. Classes were happening all day with extremely loud music. If I wanted to hear this I would have booked to Cochella not Danchella! 2. Food was pretty average and overpriced 3. Maid service didn’t happen on day one and then half done each day thereafter 4. Restaurant booking impossible to make - standard regional australia though. 5. DJ playing 80s music on a Monday night - real “Benidorm feel” - I would suggest some chilled house for evenings. Know your clientele! 6. 30 minute wait to be collected from the gym 7. Gym is a 15 minute walk from the main resort over a busy road 8. Requested pillows and robes on day one. It’s day 6 and I’m still waiting for them If you don’t mind the negatives then book but if you want a nice relaxing getaway with proper 5 star service I’d steer clear
