The resort is very well situated, the rooms are spacious and comfortable. Service is great, staff is nice and polite. Rooms are super clean, complimentary WiFi. Breakfast is good, lots of options for everyone. Tried 2 restaurants, both are great ( the fish is delicious!). Nice place overall, highly recommended for families with kids.

We spent 5 nights at the Sheraton Grand and really had a fantastic stay. We really enjoyed our swim-out room on the lagoon even though the water was too cold to do much swimming. Our room was much larger than it appears in the photos and it was nicely updated. I slept really well because the beds were so comfortable and the linens were perfect. I also appreciated the French press coffee in the room and the evening turn-down service. Once you get your bearings there are a lot of nice, quiet spots to explore. The grounds are extremely well maintained. The expansive pools has a lot of prime seating. So if you don’t get up early and grab a spot there are still plenty of great places to relax. At first we didn’t like that you couldn’t see the ocean from the resort or room. It’s just right there but the trees block the view. But after spending time on the beach and appreciating how Unspoiled the beach is I began to appreciate why they don’t open up the views. Breakfast was another highlight of the day. There were a lot of delicious items and a great variety. There were really only two negatives and neither were really worth dropping a star. The pools were really quite cold. Our kids wouldn’t get in for more than a few minutes each day if at all. It was a little disappointing coming to a resort with such a beautiful pool and not really being able to get I. As much as we would like. I imagine it would cost a fortune to heat the pools and much of the year they are probably fine. Still it would have been nice to have had at least two me of them heated for those of us with thin blood. While the rooms we had were freshly updated and great some of the common spaces were dated. They weren’t in bad shape they were just obviously styled for a different time. However we spent 98% of our time in the room or at the pool so the decor really was not a problem and we hardly saw it. Also, it’s worth mentioning that we had planned Thai trip for many months and spoken to various members of the staff many times. We are in the US so often I would have to reach out through Facebook or other messaging app. The staff were always quick to respond and went above and beyond in answering our questions.

I am at this hotel right now - July 2019. It’s been quite disappointing so far. When we arrived our room had a terrible mildew smell which made my kids and I feel ill. When I first called to discuss I was told many rooms have that smell and they can bring up some tea tree oil(!) They showed us a few rooms to move to but all were worse in terms of the smell. Their solution was to spray some glen 20 which just made the situation worse and was clearly a temporary fix. After about 1.5 hours they found another room for us across the hotel. The room was fine but it was 10pm at night and after a day of travel my kids were grumpy and unsettled and it was an unpleasant start. On a positive the breakfast is good and the outdoor area is lovely. Room is clean and housekeeping service is prompt. Room is spacious and has a good tv. However little things irk like stale bread at the cafe in the lobby, service of cocktails takes ages and wait staff at the pool are grumpy and not very attentive. Pool water is so cold even the kids are reluctant to swim. Parts of the hotel are new and nice and others look quite dated. Will see how the rest of the trip goes!
