We had a 1 bedder on level 2. Location is everything. This is where u want to be in Cairns and stuff the car. Room was small but decent balcony, moderate water view, fantastic amenities with pool, gym, sauna n spa. Fully fitted kitchen with small fridge and full cooking facilities. Nice a quite part of town without major traffic noise and good lifts The Harbor Lights precinct is within one of the 2 major restaurant strips. It is on the river and clearly the fancy part of town. This is the place to stay along with the Shangrai La and Hilton.
My mum and I stayed at CHL for 5 nights. The location was fantastic being within walking distance to many restaurants, the Esplanade strip and the Cairns CBD. The foyer and central architectural design within the centre of the building was beautiful. The rooms were nice, but were a little musty, likely because the aircon is on a lot with little fresh air coming in as it’s too hot to open doors for extended periods. Bed was comfy and the bathroom was spacious. I saw negative complaints about no hot water, but it just takes a bit to come in. And when it does it’s perfectly fine. It was great to see real hair dryers in the rooms. And closet storage was good. On the 9th floor I had a great view of the harbour and the city scape as did my mum on the 7th. The pool was simple but good to cool down in with nice views and ample shade. The staff were impeccable. Hannah (and her cute sidekick Colin 🐶) were a delight to deal with. So friendly and helpful, she really made our stay pleasant as did Colin! We had only a couple of issues, mum changed rooms because the first room was a bit too musty and there was an issue with an over achieving fridge that was freezing everything. But they were remedied quite quickly. Curtains in our rooms are probably due for some cleaning. Otherwise a great stay! Would return.…
On the water front in Cairns near all restaurants and much of the entertainment. I had an apartment room that was on the 2nd floor. Outlook was over the waterfront and opposite the Hilton. 2 min walk to the centre of cairns. Clean fresh room with good security. Room service because of Covid was on request and I got it done once during the week. The reception staff were great and very helpful. If you did get there after 10 pm I don't know how you would check in but I am sure there would be a way.
The staff couldn't have been more accommodating or helpful! The room, a 1 bed apartment was superb with water views. The 4th floor pool was amazing with views over Cairns town and the water. I guess what made our stay the most memorable was the staff, thank you Greg, Hannah and Jo.
The hotel is perfectly located near the cruises and central to everything. However, the rooms are musty, and without an ounce of character. The inside is large but austere. As it’s ageing everything creaks or makes loud noises eg. The air conditioning. I would not stay here again.
Everything about our stay at Harbour Lights was perfect! We spent 7 nights in a one bedroom apartment with the trinity inlet view and the room had everything we needed. A very comfortable room with a great size balcony, a lovely view and very spacious for our toddler to run around. The staff are amazing - so friendly, warm and welcoming. We felt like we had known them forever! The location of this hotel is perfect - Right on the waterfront with a variety of beautiful restaurants and the Reef Terminal right at your door step. We utilised the hotel car park which made parking a breeze! The pool and gym are great - nice and private. This was our first family holiday with our toddler, and Harbour Lights did not disappoint. The customer service was superb and beautiful memories were made. We would 100% re-book Harbour Lights in a heart beat. Highly recommend.…
Checked in late, after 4am start to work and 15 hour day of work. Asked if there was a laundry service, didn’t even have to mention I desperately needed to do urgent laundry for early start to work again the next day. The man at the desk was extremely helpful, he could see how exhausted he was, he happily moved my booking to a room with a laundry, it was no trouble for him and I didn’t even have to ask. He even said there’s a bathtub in there for you to rest and relax. After a 5am start to work the next day and 11 hours later, I asked if it was at all possible to check out a little later so I could get some rest. They happily helped with that too. The reception staff were so helpful and obliging I’m so very very grateful for them. Fantastic service! When I checked into my room it was far more than I had expected, very comfortable, large living area, large bed, large balcony. Although this stay was for work it was excellent to come in and get a very much needed relaxing rest! Couldn’t rate harbour lights or it’s staff any higher!…
From the lovely Hannah who checked us in to the room upgrade and bottle of bubbly for my birthday weekend and the lovely apartment with views over the water everything was fabulous. Definitely will stay here again.
The hotel is architecturally quite sensational with a central garden area within a round hotel structure. Our room had beautiful views over the river, was modern with quality fittings and very comfortable with outside seating on the balcony. Very nice! The pool was an above ground pool, pretty average, looking like an after thought with limited seating. But don't mention the car park, it is a COMPLETE DISASTER! The car park spaces are not in numerical order and are identified by no.s printed in the front right hand corner of the spot instead of on the wall at the rear of the spot (like all other car parks). As a consequence it is very difficult to see the no. looking over the passenger door. What's more each car park floor is split level extending over 2 levels and the carpark floors are very poorly marked so it is difficult to know what floor one is on. After looking for the spot, going back & forth, for 10 MINUTES I found it. Whoever designed the numbering system of this car park should be run out of town! To top things off, I was charged for parking when the hotel website suggests it is included.…
We recently returned from a 2 night stay. The hotel itself is in a great location on the marina with lovely views and heaps of restaurants nearby The staff were also very friendly and helpful. The room ( trinity bay apartment) was nice but there were a few minor negatives - unfortunately the door to the bedroom is just a frosted glass sliding wall so makes it a bit difficult to sit up and have lights on if you have a sleeping child in the room. We also struggled to get many tv channels to work ( including your basic free to air channels) as it kept saying signal issues But other than these minor issues we would recommend this hotel.
