Our room is located on the second floor - with windows on the same side as the entrance. For privacy. we close the shutters all the time. There is no safe box in the room but for $10 you can rent one at the reception. The buffet breakfast is quite good. Towels for day use outside of the hotel are...

Not too bad a place to stay. Perfectly positioned just around the corner from the Esplanade and reasonably quiet. Staff were very pleasant and friendly. Pool was nice. Decor was perhaps a little dated but you don't go to Cairns to sit in your accommodation all day. There is also a rather nice Chinese restaurant attached to this place that...

I stayed at the Hotel Cairns before and after my diving excursion with Mike Ball Excursions. Mike Ball's recommendation was spot on good. The room was clean, staff was friendly, and the pool and deck was a great place to rest and stay cool. The laundry facilities available at the hotel were very useful, but like any other washer used...

First the good part: staff is friendly, location is good and the building looks really nice from the outside. Then the rest: the room was very hot and the airco didn't seem to work. (didn't do much except being noisy) There are moldy spots on the walls and ceiling. Paint is flaking off. The balcony window had a broken lock...

If I hadn't already experienced sleeping in a few dirty, mean & nasty hotel rooms in Bangkok, I'd probably rate The Hotel Cairns as poor, but given I have seen a few rough places.... I'm happy to give them an <AVERAGE> rating. The place isn't bad, but its not fantastic. We only booked this place cause it was cheap &...

We stayed one night on our way back from Port Douglas. The room was tidy and the bed was clean, although the bath tub was dirty and the shower was barely useable - with the temperature vacillating between scolding and freezing and the water flow virtually nonexistent. The air conditioning remote was also broken and the outdoor areas are far...

Just stayed here for 3 nights on our tour round australia for our honeymoon. What a let down and a big disappointment. Hotel nothing like what is shown on the website. Room was clean enough but no windows that open. Bathroom quite large but had broken taps. Massive gap between our main door and the floor meant we had bugs...

Arrived Sept 8th, late evening for 4 nights. Staff all friendly, obliging & helpful. Room clean, however there were no opening windows. The front wall of the room is glass with wooden shutters for privacy. The bathroom only had a fan for ventilation. The glass shower screen was too short and there is a lot of water on the floor after...

The location was the best part of this motel deal. The staff weren't overly friendly, but were prompt. The room was basic and did not seem clean. It smelt like bleach and another strange indescribable smell. The bathroom floor was sticky and I wore thongs in there. The pool was ok and there were nice trees throughout the car park...

We got a good deal on the room through lastminute, which included breakfast. The king size bed was really just two singles pushed together, but it was comfortable. We were close to the lake street side but didn't really hear much in the way of traffic (it's cairns, there's not really any traffic to speak of). The room was a...
