We stayed 4 nights in a Deluxe King Pool View Room #617. It was on the top floor and we had a magnificent view of the water and pool. The room was spacious as was the bathroom. There was a mini bar which costs extra if you had anything from it but no where in the room had any pricing which we thought unfair as you could easily think it was free. The water pressure in the shower was great and the water hot at all times . The staff was very friendly and check in very easy. Free secure underground parking was a bonus as most of Cairns City Centre is paid parking. The pool was a great size and a great layout and never felt over crowded. The swim up pool bar was a nice touch also. The drinks are expensive but on par with the rest of Cairns. We never ate there as there were many other options close by. Everything was close and within easy walking distance and we were glad we picked here for our stay in Cairns. We would definitely stay here again. The only negative we have is that every morning my husband i would watch from 06:00 in the morning people placing beach towels and pool bags on pool lounge chairs to reserve them early and walking off. Some didn't return for hours. It is unfair for everyone else. We watched this happen every morning we were there so we were not impressed with this and think Novotel should monitor and not allow it. Other than that we had a wonderful stay.

Thank you for your detailed review! It’s fantastic to hear that you had such a great stay in your Deluxe King Pool View Room and enjoyed the spacious layout, stunning view, and excellent water pressure. We’re glad the check-in process was smooth, and that you appreciated the free secure underground parking—it’s definitely a convenient perk in the heart of Cairns. We apologize for the confusion regarding minibar pricing and will ensure that clearer information is provided in the future. We also appreciate your feedback about the pool loungers and understand how frustrating it can be when people reserve them without using them for hours. We’ll take your comments into consideration and look into better monitoring of this issue. It’s great that you enjoyed the pool layout and swim-up bar despite the drinks being on the pricier side, and we're glad the central location worked out so well for you. Thank you again for your thoughtful feedback, and we hope to welcome you back for another wonderful stay!

The quality of hotel and food was awesome. We really thought Mel & Luke were excellent staff members and everyone else could learn from their communication and urgency. Nachos by the pool were delicious like the cocktails! Thank you very much

Our first time in Cairns! Wonderful Accor property. We arrived early and left our luggage at reception to take advantage of the pool. Towels are provided only with towel tokens (reception will give them to you on check in) The room (deluxe pool side) is welcoming, individual air conditioning (not ducted) modern and clean. Bed comfortable and shower pressure great. Good amenities (shampoo, conditioner, body wash, lotion) Mini bar is bare minimum, tea and coffee provided. USB ports on each side of bed. As it was school holidays on a long weekend, it was very busy. Reception was very slow, I think due to their systems. I also don't recom purchasing the inflatable for the pool (3 days = $60 and no room to float) We did wish they acknowledged our anniversary (8 years) I wish they had more sun loungers at the pool, people would claim them and not be seen for hours Breakfast buffet was brilliant with a huge selection + free barista coffee for Accor members. Cocktails and food are top notch at Moku. Dylan from PEI was a wonderful human to all guests! We highly recommend Novotel Cairns

Thank you so much for your detailed and thoughtful review! We’re thrilled that your first time in Cairns was memorable, and it’s great to hear you enjoyed many aspects of your stay, especially the comfortable deluxe poolside room, fantastic shower, and thoughtful in-room amenities. We apologize for the slow reception experience, especially during such a busy period—it’s something we’ll look into improving. Your feedback about the pool inflatables and the limited availability of sun loungers is also really helpful, and we’ll explore ways to better manage this during peak times. We’re especially sorry we missed the opportunity to acknowledge your 8th anniversary—that's a special moment we definitely should have celebrated with you. On a positive note, we’re so glad you loved the breakfast buffet, cocktails, and food at Moku. Dylan will be thrilled to hear your kind words! We hope to welcome you back soon and make your next stay even better.

We booked for a Christmas dinner in the evening which was $200 with one glass of champagne on arrival! It was very chilled vibe which was very nice. First disappointment was the very cheap crackers in the table. The must have been the cheapest ones I e came across tbh! The buffet was very well set out with a menu on the table to advise what was available! There was a delicious soup with a variety of rolls which were nice, a variety of salami’s, a plate of cold ham which tbh seemed like the cheaper variety you get at the supermarket and prosciutto which was a bit of a dark off looking colour not appealing really! There was nice pickled veg & salads as well which was nice! They also had prawns & plain oysters. The main was a chicken, honey ham & brisket. The brisket was perfect absolutely delicious & the ham was also yum! I couldn’t try the chicken or the seafood noodles as I was pretty full! Thu had to accompany this roast potatoes a cauliflower gratin & butter peas & beans again all were delicious! The dessert station has small cannolis, profiteroles and a make ur own trifle area with so many fruit choices as well as bread & butter pudding, mince pies & fruit! Again all was delicious! But then we found out no coffee or tea! We had to purchase it from the bar ! 🤔 All in all it was nice but honestly for $200 it was a bit steep

Underwhelmed and annoyed best describes how we feel after our stay at this resort.
The internet was abysmal. The connection onto the internet required more steps than just knowing the network name and password. It required going to the front desk to learn that it was necessary to go into settings & turn off certain security features. When I made a comment about someone looking at the stuff on my device, the front desk person laughed and said, ‘you never know, it might be me down here in the middle of the night….’ Once I got the very unsecure internet going, it cut out constantly. This is supposedly a hotel that caters to business travelers. How can you have such crappy internet? Regardless, it’s 2025, how can you have such crappy internet?
At check in, we were given 2 inch X 2 inch paper tickets as tokens for pool towels. If we didn’t exchange them for towels, they had to be returned at check out or you were charged $25/token. Not only is that cheap, it’s tacky.
We do not recommend.

Conveniently located just a block from Cairns Centre, it is also close to Cairns Central Station, Night Market and Rusties. The front desk staff were also friendly and responsive, dropping off luggage early in the morning and reading taxis home.
Where it was disappointing, I stayed for four nights, but I was sorry that hand towels were not changed and refilled. Also, for the last two nights, the bath towels didn't seem to like it either. (We have extra towels, so that's fine... but how about a four-star hotel?) The bathroom in the standard room is shower only and there is no curtain in the shower room. Therefore, no matter how careful you are, the water will flow out to the sink and the floor of the bathroom will squirm.
I wanted to use the restaurant because the reviews were good, but I gave up because the guidance was difficult to understand and there was no staff to ask.

The hotel is friendly, clean, helpful and has excellent services. There is a beach for the kids in the complex and a pool with a pool bar that has daily drink and food specials. Rooms are great, services are excellent and breakfast is more than sufficient. It is within walking distance of numerous attractions and public transport at $1 p/d is over the road. There is a protected flying fox roost at the end of the road and you can view them flying over from the hills at dusk. A wonderful sight albeit locals don't like it. It's near the night markets, swimming lagoon and marina. The hotel is super helpful and the location perfect for all your trips.

On Sunday the 25th June at 15:09pm we phoned the hotel to query the process for visiting for the day. We had been online and were going to book a day room (11:00-17:00) via dayusehotels.com and only called to see if we could get a better rate directly. The young lady we spoke to advised us there was no need to book a room and that we were welcome to come to the hotel to use the pool for the day if we bought our own towels and purchased food and beverages from the restaurant.
Today at approx 11:30am we arrived and presented to reception eager to relax by the pool after arriving to cairns and were advised that day visitors were not welcome at the pool as it was school holidays but were told we were welcome to spend our money in the restaurant. Had we been advised that your hotel was not accepting visitors for the day prior to our arrival our day would not be ruined.
I suggest that you inform your staff of the correct processes and procedures before allowing them to answer telephones to offer incorrect information to potential guests.
Personally this experience was embarrassing and very upsetting. This incident is not something we expected from such a highly regarded international company.

Unfortunately due to our high occupancy and it being school holidays, we currently don't allow external guests. I have no idea what this is! We came on a group tour so just paid for the whole trip so do not know what the individual prices were. It was lovely though.
