We chose the Pullman once more for our recent trip to Cairns. The hotel provides excellent service, but some parts of the rooms show signs of aging. Our specific room was a Junior Suite, offering fantastic views of the inlet and the city. While certain aspects of the accommodations appear a bit worn (such as our lounge suite having some rips), we primarily chose this place for its location and top-notch service. You are a short walk away from the Esplanade, the Night Markets, and parks along the Inlet. Room service was excellent and so was the food! Whenever we travel to Cairns, we make sure we have at least one night at the Pullman.

Definitely one of the best hotels we have ever stayed in. Fantastic reception and concierge staff! Check in was a breeze. Luxurious foyer and pool area; with loads of comfy sun beds (lots in the shade too). Stayed in room 620 overlooking the pool. Super quiet. Relaxation mode was hit within an hour of checking in. Comfy king bed, and great, spacious bathroom. Had breakfast room service all days; arrived hot and plentiful. We’ll definitely be back.

My husband is wheelchair bound so an accessible room is a big bonus and The Reef does not disappoint.Great bathroom with grab rails and drop down bench for shower.Lovely view. Matthew the concierge was so helpful assembling my husbands mobility scooter and bring up our luggage.Also found us a newspaper.We stayed a couple of years ago and Matthew helped us then as well.We are locals but like to stay in the city sometimes and The Reef ticks all the boxes for us.

Beautiful hotel, lovely room and amenities. We enjoyed our stay here and found the staff to be very helpful and friendly. Our room had nice water views and the spa bath was great. The only downside was that our room was not ready until 3pm despite check in being 2pm but the manager was apologetic and gave us free drink vouchers to use while we waited.

We had a 2-night stay here (Saturday and Sunday) before moving on to Palm Cove for a week (Island Views 2-bedroom apartment) and then back to Cairns for 5 nights at Shangri-La. We always sleep in separate rooms when travelling and Rebecca from Reservations was very helpful in arranging for the rooms to be very close together (615 and 617). The Premium Deluxe King Rooms with water views are very comfortable with spa bath, king bed, stocked bar fridge and small balcony overlooking Trinity Inlet and Murray Point mountain range. Our rooms were very quiet but a couple we met said that their room (at the casino end of the hotel) was noisy. The main restaurant hub at the marina was a short stroll away and there is a Woolworths supermarket nearby. We had meals at Ochre, Tha fish, Ollies, Dundees and Piato and did the Sunset Cruise and the Catamaran sunset cruise with dinner (all reviewed separately). The other restaurant strip on the Esplanade is also walking distance (our lunch at Splash was particularly good). We didn't try Tamarind restaurant this trip but will do so next visit. Our late dinner at Soy Street Food on the night we arrived at the hotel was very good and, despite closing at 9.30pm, the wait staff were in no hurry for us to leave). We'll definitely stay at this hotel again.…

We really enjoyed our stay at the Pullman Reef Casino Hotel. From being greeted out the front when we pulled up to checkin. Our cases were taken from car and up to our room and checkin was quick. Our room was lovely, generous in size with a table and small couch. Bathroom big and a seperate toilet. Small balcony with views over the water and city. Walking to everything. Breakfast was delicious and great coffee.

I still love this great hotel. The staff are so nice. The rooms are beautiful. I stay in the jnr suite which is big with a spa bath and seperate shower. The little coffee shop downstairs serves a nice breakfast. The pool area is very relaxing and there is plenty of chairs in the sun and in the shade.

We had stayed at the Reef Casino in the past and, whilst it is a great place to stay, we were somewhat disappointed by the deal we were given this time compared to our previous, precovid, stay. Our previous stay was at around $250 a night and included breakfast daily, access to the mini bar for daily cocktails and drink tickets in the casino. This time the cost was $450 a night and absolutely no add on benefits at all !! Disappointing and will definately affect any plans to return for a stay

The location is very good, near the wharf and cruise terminal. The food, staff and service were all great, especially the Soy Kitchen and Flinders Grill. The Casino has a great sports bar and huge screens. The room was modern and clean with a comfortable bed. Very affordable and we would definitely stay here again.

Another Accor property with a bark louder than it’s bite. The advertising will have you believe a plush resort like 5 star hotel. Think again; it’s a relic from the 80’-90’s in need of refurbishment. Menu for breakfast /dinner is Novotel standard- in fact I’ve had better food at Novotel, Sydney, Perth and Melbourne! Think cheap middle of the road cafe food at best. Very limited menu. Staff are all dressed up but the hotel isn’t quite there. Stay at the newly renovated Pullman international across the road. Much nicer with a full buffet breakfast and a high multi story building with great views. Reef Casino City view rooms are a farce. You will have no city view but about 100 rooms from Pullman across the road starting into your room night and day( reef Casino is only 6 floors high) stay in water view room side if you must waste your money here. I won’t stay again. For the price they charge they significantly underdeliver for their ‘5 star’ status. This used to be a Sofitel downgraded to a Pullman. I think Mercure Grand is more appropriate. Dear Flying_Kangaroo1, Thank you for taking the time to post your feedback. I am sorry that we have not met your expectations on this occasion. It is true our city view rooms look over another building on the city side of the hotel and we are indeed a third of the size of Pullman Cairns International. Pullman Cairns International have 321 rooms and have completed refurbishment on some of their rooms which do look very nice. If you are after a big hotel experience with a big buffet to cater to the 600 guests they serve for breakfast then that is not what we are at Pullman Reef Hotel Casino. Our breakfast is a la carte and cooked fresh to order with barista coffee also made to order, no lining up at the buffet. It all comes down to what you want from your stay and again I am very sorry we have not meet this expectation. Kind regards, Wayne
