Stayed there 2 nights with friends ( they booked ) as the price and proximity to Suncorp and the CBD , Personally I would not stay here or would I visit again as it feels like a halfway house and is quite dingy , felt we couldn't be there unless it was to sleep and use very basic amenities No... Oh dear,I dont know whether to laugh or cry.it seems you were in the right place based on your friends priorities for proximity to suncorp and price.however it may have been better for you to be in a concrete insulated hotel room because the experience of 1880 designed and built shared housing is not for you. i am getting used... The hostel may be heritage listed, but that does not excuse the horrible beds, pillows and the caretaker is gruff and, sometimes downright rude. They are about as flexible as a housebrick. I would never stay there again. I would rather sleep on a park bench.

Dear Kai H,It is disappointing to receive your opinion about our efforts at eton house. I personally buy the pilliows and bedding. After nearly 10 years in short term accommodation business i have found the natural latex type pillow used here to be almost universally accepted.they stay supportive better and longer than other types i have trialled. This type of... More

My husband and I were quite impressed and delighted with this cute home. Very tidy and neat and perfect location. 400 meters from Suncorp stadium and a 10 minute walk to Roma Parklands. Mall across the street with Coles, shops, cinema and eateries. Stayed in room 5, a double bed and 2 bunk beds with ensuite and a fireplace. Would... More

Stayed one night in February with a family of five. Beautiful historical character building. We stayed in the attic room, nice and clean plenty of room and beds. The steep stairs with no safety gate did worry us a bit. Overall though a good nights sleep at a reel actively good price in a good location.

Thankyou Des,we appreciate your feedback.we have purchased a baby gate to put across the top of the stairs to protect children from slipping if required. we are keen on more family bookings for people to have first hand experience staying in australian designed 1880 attic space. More

We saw the pictures used to advertise the rooms and thought there would be plenty of room for 6 of us that we booked for, but i was wrong. Ridiculously tiny and not even the price could not justify it. Definitely not a place to stay if travelling with a few couples. The place was hot, the aircons took ages... More

Hotel is quite walking distance from Roma street station. Infact, this is a house and not a hotel. Rooms too small and reception not manned always. You should have your booking ref number to go inside the house. Wifi is free and with good speed. They provide free coffee/tea, kitchen, laundry, iron, bicycles, free videos, etc which seems more homely.... More

I booked the attic for $114. Lots of room, kitchenette, quiet. Air conditioners, TV. Was just down the road From the Beetle Bar where a gig was I was going to. Only problem was the path out the front at night is really bad, best to where flat shoes and wear your glasses.

The guesthouse is not bed and breakfast. It just serves as a comfortable place to sleep in. Helpful caretaker Henry is always present. The reverse cycled air-conditioner did not work in Room 2 and Henry fixed it immediately. Slightly better than backpackers as you do not share the room with strangers. Nice little apartment :)

This was a great little hostel for a couple of nights. Its not a b&b, but it wasn't advertised as such on other websites, so unlike some other travellers I didn't expect it to be. We stayed in the attic room - sleeps 5 - although we only had 2 for the first couple of nights and 4 for the... More

This is not B & B and should not be advertised as such. Inner city location is very good, caretaker helpful, bedroom seemed to be quiet clean, kitchen was not. Advertised as a "budget" single room and it was just that. Room #9 was tiny and stuffy and so close to the shared bathroom/toilet it was almost in it. Noise... More
