We spent a lovely weekend here, the room was clean and well presented. We had dinner in the restaurant and Susana greeted us warmly at the bar, she had remembered us from previous visits which was nice. Quentin the new Food and Beverage Manager greeted us and was warm and friendly. Between himself and the team we felt well looked after. The scallops and special were delicious and Steak and salmon for mains were beautifully cooked and well presented. We were constantly checked on and drinks topped up. The breakfast in the morning was just as delicious and my poached eggs were cooked perfectly. Tables were cleared efficiently and while it was busy the food was refreshed and coffee that was served was quick. Another enjoyable stay, great work team.

I would give this Hotel 10 stars if I could. Everything was just perfect. The team member at check in was lovely and made everything so easy. My luck with rooms is terrible, doesn't matter what I pay I get the carpark view. Not this time with no special request from us but we were put on the top floor with a great view for new years eve. We even received a nice bottle of wine on arrival. The room has all the amenities u need and the dyson hair dryer is first class. All the staff are fantastic and the food is the same. Breakfast buffet has plenty to choose from and the dinner menu is just the same. There is nothing I can fault and you won't be disappointed if you stay. No need to even bring any toiletries or a pool towel as there are high quality in your bathroom and by the pool. We will definitely be back.

The 5 star reviews aren't bogus. The really is an awesome place to stay for families, or for work/pleasure.
Firstly the staff are so welcoming, whether it is the eternally smiling Erika in reception, David the most helpful and friendliest handyman I've ever come across (who smiled & said hello when we first got out of the lift and said anything he could help us with let him know....10mins he helped us open the curtains - spoiler alert, there's switch bedside and then showed us other features in case we were wondering) , the cleaners who I apologised for spilling some tea on a pillow case and they changed my whole bed linen!
Then there was Jean Philippe and his staff at the restaurant. Most food at hotel restaurants are average, served by rushed and disinterested staff Well none of that at Jean Philippe's place. we were welcomed with a mix of old friends and VIP's. Breakfast the first thing is coffee and juice for the kids, he made sure our orders were taken before taking us to our table. The food is fresh, delicious. I recommend the omellette menu (fill out your topping and egg preferences and hand it to the kitchen staff).
The selection was decent, most importantly regularly refreshed. The coffee was tasty & hot. Apparently the juice was delicious.
Our used plates & utensils were removed quickly, which is great.
As for the rooms. we got the cheapest 1 king bed (which was accessible for some reason) we could. The bed was very comfortable and a proper king size. It was soft, but slightly firm (i.e. no sore back in the morning). There was a selection of pillows which were comfortable. The linen was crisp and clean. In fact the whole room was spotless. You can tell it's a newish hotel, it's comfortable and clean.
We were in the 4th floor over looking the pool. We could occasionally hear the faintest if kids screaming (it was school holidays), but certainly nothing to wake a snoozing human.
The pool was nice and clean (we noticed the daily cleaning, including someone in there actually scrubbing the sides!).
TLDR: It's a great newish hotel, in South Bank, but just outside the hustle & bustle of the main drag on Grey st. it's a 5-10 min walk to Southbank beach. 5 mins to IGA (Supermarket), restaurants, shops, etc. 10mins to the ferry terminal.

I emailed the hotel before arriving to check the pool temperature as this is a key factor in my choice of hotel and I had seen a review that it was too cold. They told me it’s heated to 28 degrees so I proceeded with the visit. Last time I stayed in brisbane on the other side of the river, Southbank looked like a fun area to be based and I assumed the Novotel would be in the middle of all this. In fact it’s a couple of blocks away, not a big issue but a bit blah in terms of its situation. There are plenty of nice restaurants within a 10 minute walk. We had the junior N suite, which was very pleasant with great full length windows and 2 corner windows because of the way it was situated. Didn’t love the open bathroom but it was functional enough. However the pool was freezing despite their promises of 28 degrees, and when I asked they said maintenance were sorting it out and they’d update me. They didn’t update me and the next day I asked again and they said that while the previous day it had been at 22 it was now 24 and they were trying to increase it. There is no way it was anywhere near 24. We ended up moving to the Sofitel, who told me their pool was 25 degrees, but was much much warmer than the Novotel. So Novotel was surely under 20 degrees. This was disappointing already, and as it was a rare cold and rainy time in brisbane I asked about a bath. They said that only the executive suite had them and they were full. As a platinum Accor member I usually get lovely upgrades to my bookings. Here there was no upgrade, and even when I specifically asked because I was very keen to have a bath, they lied to me telling me it was full, whereas I could see in the app that i was still able to book the executive suite for both the nights we were there. So it seems that they lied to me both about the pool temperature and the upgrade availability. I certainly won’t be back.

Dear Nicky, thank you so much for reviewing us. We are very sad to know that we fell short of your expectations during your stay with us and we would like to apologise for any inconvenience you experienced regarding the pool temperature. Unfortunately, at that time one of the pool compressors was down, and for this reason, the temperature dropped. We hope to have the chance to welcome you back for a more pleasant experience in the future. Kind regards. Leticia, Digital Marketing Manager.

Nowadays we understand environmental friendly is the trend of hotel especially in Novotel South Bank, thus there is no amenities provided even water !! However there is plastic bottled in mini bar which is charged. What a wonderful business strategy!
No slippers no cotton pads and buds which normally a basic of 3 -star hotel, when I called the reception and asked, the reception staff don’t understand what cotton bud is.
I am staying in premier room and the shower is quite small though.

The hotel is well located, within walking distance to everything south bank has to offer. It also has a good play area for kids with a small playground, Table Tennis table and cars.
Service at the hotel was lukewarm, on the edge of being cold. For example, no staff helped us with our bags at check in or check out. None offered to share more information about the hotel, it’s facilities or surroundings.
Do bear in mind that the the room is relatively no frills. The only toiletries provided were a shower cap and body wash/shampoo in dispenser bottles. Dental kits and bedroom slippers would only be provided upon request (even for the latter, those were only provided on the grounds that I am an Accor member). There was also a strange sewage smell coming from the toilet - not major, but definitely not pleasant.
The hotel also charges for wifi, unless you are an Accor silver/plus member or higher. This is quite shocking in my opinion given this day and age.
I would probably not return to this hotel, as it did not quite live up to the raving reviews here, nor the comfort and service I have come to expect of an Accor hotel.

Dear Claire Thank you for taking the time to tell us about your experience at the Novotel Brisbane South Bank. Whilst I'm glad that you enjoyed our location, it is disappointing to read that we did not meet your expectations. Unfortunately, we do not offer porter service, however our friendly staff members are always happy to help if available. I am sorry that we gave you the impression that we did not want to assist you with your bags and i will share your remark with our team. To avoid wastage, extra amenities such as slippers and dental kits are available upon requests. Our team is always a phone call away and happy to bring anything you need up to the room. I will be happy to discus this directly with you. You can reach me on 0732954140. I do hope that you will give us a chance in the future to welcome you again. The location is convenient for South Bank (which is a great place to go if you've got a Bluey fan in the family), the rooms are modern (even if the bathroom setup was a bit amusing) and the "family suite" was the perfect arrangement for us (basically, it's a way to book interconnecting rooms online and without any hassle). As we stayed during the school holidays, there were child friendly activities available in the hotel but unfortunately we were too busy to make use of them (or the pool).
The breakfast buffet is quite good. Room service food, on the other hand, is abysmal and should be avoided, no matter how tired you are.

As soon as we checked into the hotel we were told there was a laundry problem so we may not receive clean towels. Really? No apology, just a typed memo and a verbal reiteration of what the memo said. Okay so we received clean towels after two nights. Then we went to the hotel's restaurant. The wait staff were exceptional.. friendly and most helpful. First night the food and service were good. Second night we ordered the eye fillet at $45 each which had grizzle through the middle. I had to spit out a mouthful as I couldn't swallow it. Our knives struggled to cut the meat around the grizzle. Unacceptable for that price. Tonight we only felt like a drink and a small meal so I perused the barfood menu and decided we could make a small meal out of the sliders. We ordered a cocktail after being told they'd run out of my first pick, 4 x sliders (2 prawn and 2 wagyu beef) sat down, got our drinks. THEN was told they've run out of sliders. Good service is being told BEFORE you order and settle in, which items that aren't available. So I ordered pita bread. I received my cocktail at $21 plus 15% public holiday surcharge and it arrived looking quite poorly. Photo attached. The management will probably gaslight me as though I'm just being fussy or whinging but I've travelled A LOT and stay in hotels every week for my work. I won't be renewing my Accor membership as I don't feel the quality is up to scratch. Apart from this, our room was clean and well appointed.

My wife & I have just returned home after a most enjoyable 10 night stay at this hotel, 7 night Luxury Escapes package and 3 night Accord package, all in a King "N Room. Same room allocated for the duration as per our request. Room comfortable and bright, not the best views from the window but that wasn't a worry. Comfortable bed welcomed us back daily, nice modern ensuite area with ample toiletries and large fluffy towels. Room maintained virtually pristine for the duration of our stay. Friendly smile & greeting on arrival and whenever departing and returning to hotel. Check-in & out efficient and quick. We liked the location opposite a quiet park, minimal noise in room even with heavy traffic on Cordelia Street. Great choice of restaurants and cafes within comfortable walking distanced. Southbank promenade and adjacent attractions also within walking distance. I'd like to thank the hotel for the cancellation policy during Covid; we had to cancel on two previous occasions due to snap lockdowns in both WA & QLD, the hotel delivered on each occasion.

One of my favourite hotels for a staycation in Brisbane. The location is excellent as it is only a short walk to the Brisbane Convention Centre, Southbank, and the West End precinct, and a 5-minute bus ride into the CBD. The staff at the hotel are very welcoming and friendly. The accommodation is clean and comfortable. The food is great at the restaurant - even better when you have an Accor membership as you get meals at a cheaper price. We stayed here for three nights when we attended a special dinner with Chef Miquel Maestre prior to the commencement of the Brisbane Food and Wine Festival. The dinner was magnificent and the hotel staff got into the spirit of the occasion, dressing up in their running of the bull outfits and creating a lively Spanish atmosphere. Would definitely recommend staying at this hotel.
