The people at the reception were not very hospitable. There could be more of a personal touch. The rooms were very noisy in the night. The place was in the centre that was very nice and easy. It was okay for the time being but wouldn't go back again.

good location, quite clean but noisy as hell at night. I think we had the worst dorm because it was right next to the bar and under many stairs (the kind that make a lot of noise). I'm usually a hard sleeper and the two nights I spent there we're probably my worst. Good for price and location but I... More

We stayed two nights in a double room without bathroom. The building is very old, so above each door there is a part with kind of wholes so you hear everybody walking past your door or talking. Good I had ear plugs with me... I must say excellent location. No free wifi (as in every base backpackers).

Staff were so helpful and really went the extra mile for us. Particularly Hannah, who was so helpful when we had some problems, so thanks Hannah! Great customer service! Showers were great, breakfast was really nice and it's in a perfect location right in the centre of the city.

I stayed here for 4 nights in a double ensuite room. The room I got had a double bed and 2 extra single beds and a small kitchen so very good value for money. The room was very clean and well presented. The bathroom is very old but was clean. The lift can only be accessed if you ask the... More

I stayed here for two nights in a single private room in August 2016. The reception, travel desk and housekeeping staff were all lovely and it was soooo nice to hear two Scottish accents among all the Aussies! It was no problem at all to sort out my booking (I'd messed up and booked the wrong night), my room was... More

Still my favourite place to stay in Brisbane city. The place has a vibe and feel you want find anywhere else. It is what you make it, the staff from reception to housekeeping are all help full and friendly. It is truly a party hostel with Down Under down the stairs but you can always get sleep when needed. Will... More

Stayed here in a single room for 4 nights. Firstly, after checking in (by the receptionist who was more interested about talking to his mate about how hard he'd partied the night before) I discovered that the lift was out of service and that I had to carry my 24kg bag up 4 flights of stairs, okay, can't be helped... We spent a rowdy night at Base Backpackers a few weeks back, you really have to know what you are getting into when you book places like these. About 11 years ago on our first trip around Australia, we spent 4 nights here and were here to party and be obnoxious, it was Palace at that time now Base. This... More

I've used this hostel as my base to come back to a few times, kitchen is equipped and never too mucky .. Always someone in there keeping it clean, showers are decent and beds are comfortable. It's an old building so of course it's not in the best condition and means the place is dusty and by no means pristine... More

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Nomads Brisbane has everything a backpacker could want, with our five floors offering a wide variety of rooms to appeal to everyone from the newly-arrived to the newly-wed, including dormitory and private rooms. All rooms are secured via electronic keycards, while you can keep your valuables doubly secured with our supplied lockers. Linen is also provided so there's no need to bring your sleeping bag! But that's not all. Our rooftop terrace is the place in the Brisbane CBD to catch some sun, chill out, have a BBQ or just watch the world go by while you wait for your laundry in one of our three laundry rooms. If the sun's not your thing then we also have common areas to kick back, relax, and get some quality tv time; that or cook up a feast in our guest kitchen! If you're looking for work, why not let our Job Club give you a nudge in the right direction? Likewise, our friendly travel desk staff don't just know everything about the beautiful South-East Queensland - they can give you advice about anywhere in Australia, New Zealand and the South Pacific! Downstairs the Down Under Bar is where you can go full on, flat out! Come on down to Brisbane's most famous backpacker bar where you can win great prizes, dance the night away, or even meet Mr/Mrs Right (or Mr/Mrs Right Now!). If you're after something a little quieter then our Zi Bar does great food and coffee, with regular functions to keep you entertained. Dormitories are available to genuine backpackers only. Guests MUST be over 18 years old to stay at Nomads Brisbane Hostel. ... more   less
