We enjoyed a 3 day sentence in Chill Backpackers. The descent into the basement reception for check in was an ominous sign and should have been a warning. After check in we ascended to new heights to find our room, and stepped out of the lift to find a dark, cramped corridor. Our room was the next surprise on the... More

Myself and two others stayed in a private triple room for 3 nights. Overall Chill served our purpose and we did enjoy our time in Brisbane. Room: the room was quite small but clean and did have shelves which we could put our bags on which was good. Staff were also friendly and helpful upon arrival. Kitchen: the kitchen was... More

The location is great, the satff was friendly, great view, the kitchen is practical and they have good ideas, but the rooms are tiny, you can't open the windows and there are no courtains (if there are, it's just one, which covers half the window). I'm not sure who designed the girls bathroom, but it's obvious that palcing a showerhead... More

Me and my partner stayed here for 3 weeks in March. Overall the hostel was pretty good. Manager was beyond helpful with hostel and things to do in Brisbane. Staff overall were helpful. Toilets were always clean, as was kitchen. Only thing is, kitchen could be a bit bigger and there is no area to eat inside. Rooftop deck is... More

I traveled Australia in 2011/12. I started off in Carins and moved my way down to Brisbane over a 3 month period. We originally stayed in City Backpackers the larger of the two hostels mainly for the pool that they had. After staying there for approx 2 weeks we moved to Chill Backpackers to join up with a friend. We... More

Chill is part of a chain alongside Big Bird and Brisbane City, The hotel boasts that it is the most upmarket of the hostels - this is true only when compared to the other two. We got a 4 bed dorm and luckily for the 2 nights we were the only ones in the room; to be fair I would... More

Conveniently located at Upper Roma Street, Chill Backpackers is just a 5-min walk to the train station. Has a bike rental system 2-mins walk away from the hostel (called Citycycle, if I'm not mistaken) - free-of-charge for the first 30 mins of your ride. Highly recommend if you're a budget traveller, like I am :-) Clean, and comfy beds. Toilets... More

I went to Australia on my own when I turned 18 because I got a wad of money from an accident. This is the first place I stayed. And it was the best night of my life! The staff were so friendly. They have everything. I met friends for life here and cried like a kid when I had to... More

Nice, chilled hostel. Rooms had air con which was a bonus, clean kitchen and movie room was good. Good location, near the city centre and transport was easy to get. Trevor (staff) and the rest of the staff were great throughout - will recommend
