Staff were very friendly and helpful during our stay, and the venue itself was very clean. We went upstairs to our room and immediately were hit with a sickening sweet smell from these air freshener things you buy at Coles. They ended up giving us a headache after a while, and where plugged into just about every plug you could... More

The price attracted me here because other hostels seem to put their prices up as the busy season kicks off.. Although the kitchen was small, if you get there at the right time this isnt much of a problem. The room was small and we had a problem with the air con but they promptly got people out to fix... So we chose a double room with a private bathroom, upon arrival there was no one at reception so we had to ask the bar staff at wisdoms to help us out, they sent someone through who then checked us in. I booked through booking.com and had selected 'free carpark' the issue with this is that there is such limited... More

Australia is a country where cheap accommodation is difficult to find, and after looking at other hotels in Darwin I chose this one on location, price, and on the basis that at least I would know what country I was in. I took a double room with private bathroom, not sure if they have any other doubles with private bathroom... More

My GF flew all the way from Scotland to visit me whilst travelling, we booked the more expensive hostel at $110 per night (Ashton lodge). We got there, the place smelled like sickness then we got to our room which was a clean room with a BED, nothing else. No where to store clothes, no fridge nothing. So we were... More

The staff are amazingly lovely and hard working. Always cleaning. Unfortunately the smell of the room we had was something I can't describe. And the noise in the bar from 8pm through to 4am is horrendous and sleep is impossible. There should be a warning on there advertising to indicate this.

This Hotel had everything they advertised. While I felt it was a bit expensive at $175.00 per night for very basic accommodation the fact that it was in the very heart of the city is fair. A basic room , clean, en suite bathroom, no safe of course, and it was really like a backpacker's room PLUS. It is above... More

It was clean. The mattress was reasonable, and had bed-bug protectors on them (a good idea) that were also clean. The linen was also clean. It is, however, quite basic, and we had shared bathroom facilities with two other rooms which didn't cause an issue - we knew that up-front. There was some paint peeling on the walls and the...
