We stayed in the Caravan Park. Having asked for an unpowered site, we were told there were none available...however the park was very quiet and there seemed to be plenty of places we could have set up our camper on lawn. Instead we were charged $85 per night to stay lined up on gravel and concrete with no shade and a blazing 'street' light overhead. And we had Yulara workers speeding through the caravan section back and forth from work. Amenities were brilliant- but that is the only positive. Nice facilities for international travellers...but how about the local travellers on the road!

Stayed at the Outback Pioneer Lodge with two of my friends and had a great time together. Laughed so hard as I hadn’t been on a bunk bed, the top bunk no less, in over 50 years. While our room was a bit on the rustic side, the price was great, and with all the beauty in the area you’re not going to be spending much time in your room anyway. The shared showers were quite clean. Do bring a flashlight so that you can see to get down from the bunk ;-) . You’re going to have an awe-inspiring experience at Uluru...I’ll never forget it or the special time with my friends.

We opted to stay at the Lodge, which was a standard hostel. Room and shared bathroom facilities were what you would expect. We were lucky not to have roommates in our 4-person room, as it would have been very crowded. I was relieved by the lack of creepy crawlies. Pub/kitchen area had a cool, relaxed vibe and food prices seemed reasonable. There is also a grocery store nearby. Accommodations in Uluru are scarce and expensive, and this was the least expensive option. I recommend renting a car to get around.

Good hotel but paid three or four times what I paid for an equivelent hotel in Alice because they control the prices of the hotels on Uluru. Breakfast was good and the pub attached to the Hotel is a nice relaxed place for a drink. There is a viewing point behind the Hotel which is a short walk to the top of a mound where you can watch the sunrise over Ayers Rock and the Olgas.

Hi John P Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback from your recent stay at the Outback Pioneer Hotel & Lodge and we are pleased to note that overall you enjoyed your stay at Ayers Rock Resort. We certainly appreciate that it is an investment to visit our remote destination however unfortunately the cost of supply chain transport to our destination with a single resort to absorb all costs is considerably hire than to cities such as Alice Springs. That said operating as one resort rather than individual hotels does allow us efficiencies in scale that would otherwise not be possible. It may be of interest to know that twice per week, three fully loaded road trains make the 1,663-kilometre trip along the Stuart and Lasseter Highways from Adelaide to Yulara in order to supply the Resort with food and materials, and additional necessities are provided by trucks that make the daily 443-kilometre trip from Alice Springs. I hope this has provided with additional information about our resort and we further thank you for choosing to visit. Kind Regards Andrew Freak General Manager Outback Pioneer Hotel & Lodge

When I first arrived I was a bit worried when I seen it was youth hostel associated but the hotel was lovey, it was basic but very clean and comfortable, the bar and food was great and the pool as well though didn’t spend to much time at it, there was free WiFi and the staff were really helpful in the resort, there is a free shuttle that takes you to the town square where there is a small range of shops including a supermarket
