Campground at kings Canyon We were lucky it was was so hot there wasn't many people around and pretty much had the place to ourselves. I especially loved having the en-suite next to our camper. I didn't get the name of the person at reception but he was very welcoming and friendly. It was a really nice place to visit but you are remote so don't expect to get WIFI. Not that you really need it it was such a lovely place to be.
Stayed here for 1 night on our road trip, great friendly check in, we were upgraded from a budget room to a standard which was ok, it was surprisingly quiet so that made sense for the upgrade.Nice little pool area, towels supplied so a good saving on taking your own.Room had a smell, soon learnt it was the shower drain, don't check your mattress, got a shock at the state of ours, threadbare, but too exhausted to complain, anyway where would they find a new one!!! Restaurant I felt a bit restricted & overpriced, but not a lot of choice in the area, lovely staff though, great size of room, just needs freshening up, C'mon guy's stop sitting on your laurel's!!!
A lovely 3 day stay, was dampened when the shop manager, interrogated my family and abused us for parking at the dump station, so that we could access it on the appropriate side of the vehicle. No apology recieved, for management at this resort it was absolutely unacceptable. I called and was told to call a victorian number to complain. I have heard nothing, staff alluded to this manager being a long term resident out there, this very little could be done. The abuse included being sick of visitors that don't know how things run etc etc.
Welcomed by helpful staff at reception. Our room was amazing and was worth paying a little extra. Breakfasts were offered early and plentiful so you could head off to walk the rim. We loved the sunset caravan buy a drink and watch the sun go down. The first night we did the barbecue which for the cost was disappointing as was the wait.More staff were certainty required in all areas..once our meal arrived there was no cutlery available and salads were very tired. The next evening we had pizzas in the bar..tasty and pleased we'd gone early as once again not enough staff for the amount of people. If heading that way take water and snacks and fill up on fuel as once at the resort its resort prices!
Wonderful, comfortable accommodation and the scenery is awesome. The canyon is breathtaking and it's well worth the extra money to take a helicopter flight to see it from above. DO NOT forget your camera, and remember to wear a hat.
