Beware...there is a reason that this place is so cheap! For a start, they had a pool but guests weren't allowed to use it. Ridiculous. As far as the food is concerned, even the German tourists knew it was crap steak, that's how bad it was. Whatever you do, don't book a "room"...(shipping containers lined up underneath a hot tin... In a driving holiday of about 3 weeks in nt, this was probably the best roadhouse stop we went through, had chips and beer from friendly staff, the souvenirs were unique and cool if a bit dear but oh well. Didn't have time to do any of the onsite activities but they all looked pretty good.

Hi Openfj0re Thanks for the great feedback about our staff, I've put that into the staff meeting notes for them. Next time you'll have to make time to do the Curtin Springs Paper 1 hour tour, which everyone really enjoys. Lyndee Severin More

We stayed for three nights on a powered site in our caravan. They do offer free camping, no power, or water in the campsite but it is available for a cost. You have to pay $3.00 for your shower but this covers the cost of water being trucked in. If you are using the camp area please pay or they... More

We chose to stay here as we had friends from Denmark with us, thought they may appreciate a bit of the Aussie outback! That we got. Accommodation very basic, bit cold to have showers & cold to run to the loo in the middle of the night! meals in the outdoor restaurant were basic, but plenty. Sitting in the bar... More

Hello AnneElisabeth I'm glad you considered us for the experience for your visitors - I'm sure they got a taste of the 'real' outback during their visit to Central Australia, although the cooler temperatures in the last few weeks, will have made them feel a bit more at home! Thank you for taking the time to put up a review... More

I opted to stay here instead of the more traditional fancy resort hotels. The Curtin Spring Cattle Station is about 45 minute drive from Ayers Rock airport. You need to rent a car as other transportation is not really available. This is a simple wayside inn, a bit old fashion, but quiet. Rooms are in buildings similar to individual mobile... More

Thank you Bill for your review and for choosing us over the other options available in the region. As you saw, we are a great place to base yourself for visiting the Rock or Kings Canyon, which is what most of our visitors do. We do also have 4wd tours that go out onto the station and allow visitors the... More

Had a great stay, good meals, cold beer, particularly COOPERS fine ales, and warm hospitality way out bush. Heaps of history interpreted in where you can share meals and meet travellers from not only around Australia, but the World!

Friendly backpacker staff but the owner needs to learn that it is not a great look to have a go at them about being too slow to pick up the phone, in front of paying customers. Yes he may have a legitimate concern, but do it privately.

Hi Michael, yes, you are absolutely correct, that conversation with staff should have been had in private (as had been done). The rounds of the table that I then had with the boss later that evening (and again after getting your review) was done privately. More

One of only a few stops along the Lasseter highway between stuart highway and Uluru. Bathrooms were rustic but clean, and free. The story of the ranch was neat to read. Food prices were a bit steep from the café, even considering how remote the location. I did order some of their sausages to go – apparently made from their... More

A unique stopover before Uluru NT. You get a real feel for the value of perseverance against environment and the bureaucracy. A chat with Peyer Severin is an experience not to be missed - most nights after 5 pm! The tucker is top notch and camping free. The view of Mt Connor makes the Rock a bit ho-hum.

We had 3 nights with a powered site, way over priced at $40, with no water access and only 2 showers per gender for the camp area plus any itinerant that wanders in. Thats 2 showers for over 100 + people. Toilets stunk and service all passing trade headed in and out of Yulara, that's about 400 or more people... More
