Quilt that can cover your chest or your feet.....your choice. Bedsheets that are of a different size none of which can be tucked under the mattress. Both too small for the purpose.....toilet bowls that still show evidence of previous occupation... I am a regular because of business...no choice in hotel. I've had the same complaints for the past 2 years...that's how long I have been coming here....Luckily its only for 1 night every few weeks... Front desk staff are fantastic....house keeping are plain lazy!
We booked a room with 2 queen beds and were assigned what we were told is the new wing. The room was newly refurbished and comfortable and adequate for 2 adults and a child. But the hall outside the room was badly soiled and there was substantial noise in the hall all night (but we were there on a Friday). There are also nice views of the MacDonnell ranges from the other side of the hotel, but we were told we could not get such a view with the 2 queen beds. The gym was great and the breakfast was also good in a covid environment. But the noise and rough common areas meant we only stayed here one night instead of our planned 4 nights. We moved to the Doubletree next door which we found better. But we note the pool is better here than the Doubletree if that is important to you.
I'll start by saying that the service here was very good. Everyone we dealt with was pleasant and the front desk staff very welcoming. The room was also very nice, amazingly comfortable bed and pillows. Beautiful bathroom with rain shower - one of the best bathrooms I've seen in any hotel I've stayed at. Very clean, no issues at all in this regard. We had dinner one night at the Juicy Rump. I thought the food was pretty average (had the lamb shank which was nice enough but the minuscule amount of mashed potato that came with it, along with the ratatouille that was cold and bland) but my partner thought his meal was pretty good. Probably wouldn't eat there again, was definitely overpriced. We ordered a couple of things through room service which were alright, but again, pricey. The thing that lets this hotel down and will prevent us from ever staying there again is the ridiculous and relentless noise, making it impossible to relax. Even with our TV on and listening to things through headphones on my laptop, the noise just di not stop. We booked for three nights and ended up leaving before the third night. Would have left before the second night but wasn't prepared to throw away that much money. We were in block 5 in a ground floor room (5117), which apparently is a deluxe room. As mentioned above, the room itself was very nice although being on the ground floor we didn't get the promised "amazing" mountain view. This aside, the constant noise completely ruined our stay. On our first night, we were unlucky enough to have inconsiderate people staying in the room next to ours (it was inter-connecting which was super annoying). We rang reception who sent security to deal with them immediately. In hindsight, I'm not sure whether they actually were excessively noisy or whether the sound they were making just sounded worse than it was. At all hours of the day and night, countless numbers of people were walking in and out of the building, closing/slamming doors which made the noise of slamming emanate throughout the entire building. The lack of sound insulation ensured that even conversations people were having outside the rooms at a normal volume were made to sound like they were shouting. Every single thing (housekeeping, room service deliveries, people coming and going, people walking upstairs, just EVERYTHING) echoed and was so loud it may as well have been happening in our actual room. I reckon I got about three hours sleep over two nights, despite using earplugs. Even my partner, who is the world's deepest sleeper and could sleep through anything, commented on the noise and how the hotel was far and away the noisiest we have ever stayed at. Even in the middle of Times Square in New York City and in dingy backpacker hostels in San Francisco we didn't encounter anywhere near the amount of noise as we did at Crowne Plaza Alice Springs. Despite the lovely room, we would never stay here again and this would have been a 2 star rating if not for the room being as nice as it was.…
We were terribly dissapointed with the casino and its beer being served hot and the drinks are ridiculously expensive! also very unruly and annoying clientele, our room service meal was cold on arrival and not eaten, breakfast in the morning at tali took over 45 minutes for our tea and coffees to arrive, breakfast about an hour with uncooked bacon, dirty plates left on tables with numerous wait staff walking straight by without clearing the tables and left there for the whole time we were there, they also left us sitting with our plates for over 20 minutes. Overall very dissapointed with our stay. The reception staff and duty manager were fabulous, but overall other staff need serious retraining.
Reception staff very accomodating and helpful. Room large king size bed very comfy. Bathroom upgraded very clean. Room opened onto small patio and green grass. Buffet breakfast included in price delicious.
