Extremely disappointing in terms of service and facilities. We arrived after 5:15PM and were advised the room wasn't ready because they were a cleaner down and to have a drink using our Accor voucher and they would come and get us in 10 minutes. After 30 minutes went back and when we got to the room discovered no towels, no iron, dirty room, and mould growing in the fridge. Had to request towels several times and ended up buying some elsewhere. Lack of service and lack of care. Should not be listed on the Accor website.
I booked this hotel many weeks in advance because of the location, even though I had heard bad reports of indigenous people being given inferior and dirty accommodation. I assumed since it had made news in Victoria that the management would have fixed the problem. Let me tell you they haven't, as I was given a room that could only be described as disgusting. I requested a balcony room, but was given a room at the very back of the hotel with a view of a fence and a rubbish heap, and an unemptied ashtray just outside my door. The heater did not work so the room was cold (temperatures around zero at this time of the year), and the one, too small, spare blanket was inadequate. I was unable to find anyone to fix this problem so left a message which was ignored. When I returned the second night, it had still not been fixed so tried again and after my third request I was able to get another controller which worked. I was provided with two thin, lumpy pillows and again unable to get more till the next night as nobody seems to care or respond to requests for service. When I did get more pillows they were also thin and lumpy. Room service consisted of the sheets on the bed being straightened. Yep, that's it. Even the inadequate spare blanket I had used was not straightened but left on the bed crumpled up. The floor was not vacuumed once during my 4 night stay. Teabags and milk were not replenished. Towels, even those left on the floor were not replaced, and as I had long and busy days, when I arrived back at the hotel, reception was unattended so I had to stand in the freezing cold, using the night phone. On the last night, there was a recorded message on this phone saying that the emergency contact person was unavailable and I should send an email! That night I had no towels at all, no bathmat or hand towel either. Heaven help me if there had been a safety emergency. Now to the bathroom. Not only was it old and shabby, but filthy. There was grunge around the basin taps and the shower recess was encrusted with years of slimy grime. I felt I didn't want to touch anything in the whole room. Had I the luxury of time, of course I would have left and stayed anywhere else, but with a very busy schedule from early morning till late night, all I could do was to put up with it. I have stayed at other Ibis hotels and never had this level of problems. Needless to say I will NEVER darken the doors of another Ibis hotel, and will be letting others know what to expect. Badly done, Ibis, this hotel is a disgrace.…
room fine poor communication between reception and kitchen I didi not get my cooked meal when I went back to reception and asked about it they did offer a cooked meal but too late at that stage. reception helpful
Well what welcoming to Alice Springs, only to be woken by a noise at about 1.30am of like what the....we had someone try and break and enter into our room which was by the pool, thank goodness I woke up to the noise, I woke my husband to the noise only to find that someone had their whole arm in the sliding door trying to unlatched the security chain latch on the door....I would hate to think what would have happened if they got in.... I spoke to the reception staff in the morning, and was considering a room change, as I was so uncomfortable about the whole situation, I think it was by sheer shock that I didn't seek it further, as I am sure this happens on a regular basis as it wasn't taken at all seriously, I would never recommend this as a place to stay, they actually didn't even seem to care really what with what had happened.....I have stayed with the Ibis chain on many times and this is actually a really detrimental flaw in their chain. Regards Not a happy traveler…
As a wheelchair user I found the accessible room to be way too small Was very cramped. The shower setup is weird as the bars are behind the seat useless to anyone sitting on the chair, also no shelf in the bathroom for you to put anything’s on. Restaurant looked boring so didn’t bother trying it out. Rooms weren’t cleaned till after 4.00pm, no beds made, no vacuuming done at all. Staff are good and friendly.
