Chili Blue was my first hostel during my travels through Australia and I really liked it. It's a great place to start off and discover all the city has to offer. The staff has a good network and helped me finding a job. I also met a lot of cool people. The hostel offers free dinners during the week (BBQ,... More

My kind of place, but probably not for everyone. Young crowd gives it some life even though I am getting on in years and can't keep up. Free breakfast was pretty good and the free dinner (domino's pizza) was a bonus.

About the dingiest, dirtiest and dustiest place to stay on planet earth. After inspecting the premises I decided not to remain there for even one night. At the reception I asked for a towel and was informed by "Lenny" (he had to think about his name for a few seconds) that they had run out and even if there was... More

The worst hostel ever. Could be better, if the staff wouldn't be telling lies all the time. We booked and payed for 10 bed room. I have a feeling that there is NO 10 bed room, just smaller ones. We were placed to the 4 bed room, size smaller than prison cell, smell worse. Toilets and showers are clean, kitchen... More

I have stayed there about 2 months. It is a decent place, a lot of longtermers, and you will for sure find someone to party on with everyday. On the downside, most rooms are quite closed, and some have no windows. But it was alright since I was in the room for changing and sleeping. With the staff, there is... More

Stayed in Chili blue hostel from July 2015 until August 2015 approx 5weeks. The staff are not helpful at all, and always have an attitude towards everyone it seemed, the hostel kitchen is filthy, used it 3 times in 5weeks, the rooms are tiny and so are the bathrooms, I would definitely not recommend this hostel, stay clear, it's a... We booked this hostel for a couple of nights because it was cheap. Well you get what you pay for! Cramped rooms and corridors, dirty kitchen and miserable staff. The shower and toilet were ok as was the bed.

Myself and 2 friends spent a week at Chili Blue. My honest advice if you don't like to party 24/7 is to find a different hostel in Sydney. Parties went till 6 am although the courtyard technically closed at 10, you could always hear people partying until very early in the morning in the kitchen area. We were originally placed... More

Coming straight to the point, there are many who love this pace and manage to stay there happily. But for me it was not the right place. I was looking for clean, fresh, ventilated rooms but could not find one during my 3 days stay. The vibe is good, the management is OK, the cleaning staff is OK but everything... More
