My wife and I had a good stay at Sydney Harbour for the first day of our Australia trip. The property is in a good location near the harbor for access to the bridge, Opera House and botanical gardens. Breakfast was more than adequate as well and they even accommodated our early departure the next morning. We greatly appreciated their... More

Friendly people, James and Linda, who answered any questions and were very helpful. The place is very close to the Bridge Climb, which is why we stayed there, but we will be regulars now because of the great breakfast and good price. We definitely recommend it.

We decided at the last minute to go to Sydney for a short trip from Melbourne during 2nd week of Melb. school holidays. Stayed at this B&B a few yrs ago and loved the location, accomm. & breakfast. Stayed in a self contained cottage with roof top views of opera house. Linda & James very friendly & quick to help... More

Close to the action in the Rocks and convenient to trains and ferries. We stayed in the top floor on one part of the B&B and the view was captivating. James and Linda are attentive in every detail, cheers Dr Roger Hilton

This place is a little gem. The hosts are great, they go out of their way to make you feel at home! The hotel itself and our room were old and quirky, but wellkept and clean, so that should in no way deter anyone! Breakfast is a proper meal with pancakes, eggs and bacon made to order, very impressive. We... More

Came to Sydney for a business meeting, and decided to stay somewhere different to the usual hotels. The B & B is great - very old building, a bit run down, quirky. James was fantastic, and very easy to deal with. Even having one of the standard rooms with the bathroom down the hall wasn't a problem. Would be a... More

This quaint bed and breakfast is worth looking at. It is not expensive, the bed was comfortable. The bathroom just down the hall. The breakfast - yum. The hosts were very hospitable and friendly. However it wasn't easy to see the B&W from the taxi and there is no useful mirror in the room. I would also recommend a free... More

My husband and I had to cancel our trip to Sydney due to family illness and made arrangements with Sydney Harbour to transfer our deposit to another couple in our group. They said they would be glad to do that. Not only did they not do that, they still will not return our deposit because they do not want to... More

Staying in The Rocks

Neighborhood Profile
The Rocks
The first residents of the Rocks were convicts and sailors from the old nation. As the oldest neighborhood in the city, the area's cobblestone streets host more than 100 heritage sites and buildings, including the oldest house in Sydney, Camden Cottage, which was built in 1816. Taste a “midi “ or a “schooner” of beer and dine “al fresco” on the waterfront at some of the oldest pubs in Sydney. The weekend markets at the Rocks are where you can find local artists' hand-made souvenirs, organic food and designer jewelry in a relaxed and friendly atmosphere. To enjoy some of the best Australian and international contemporary art, the MCA museum is open every day and select evenings. At the end of a long day of sightseeing, be sure to save energy to dance the night away at the area's many late night entertainment venues.
