Roof top bar is stunning . The 360 view of sydney is just breath taking. Super bar food. Very busy downstairs . Great buzz..good for a function. Lovely wines and whisky's if you into those. Manager was so hospitable . Got us a cab and make sure we were cool

Have been here a couple of times now. Only for beers with friends, so cant comment on the food. A fairly good range of local craft beers. Upstairs has another small bar with great views. Downstairs is old school. Tiles, timber, cramped, but in an olde world nooks and crannys way. Have always enjoyed my time here. It would be... More

After leaving another establishment it was nice to come to somewhere friendly and relaxed. A nice range of beers on tap and the natural one was quite moorish. Had a nice roast pork each. Plus nice lentil and cheese beet salad! Not upmarket but unpretentious and really takes you back to a bygone era

A compact, no-nonsense, well executed food and drinks menu is augmented by a quirky, interesting, stylish and expertly crates refurb of an iconic, idiosyncratic building in a starkly beautiful part of Sydney. Put simply this place rocks.

So this partially renovated 1800s building is a really cool place. The views are unparalleled, I think, and the bars—downstairs and upstairs—are uber-chic and packed most of the time. The questionable: there is no reception, and folks from the bar just kind of take time out of their job to check guests in and out. If there is a question,... More

Lunch with a friend recently was a disappointing experience. We ordered share plates - oysters, sashimi, spicy cauliflower, cheese. The sashimi arrived first (after stating we would obviously start with the oysters), then the cauliflower and about half an hour later the oysters. No apology. The cheese arrived some time later and was deposited on my friend's lap and on... More

We had been walking with friends through The Rocks and over to take a look at Barangaroo and decided to stop at the Hotel Palisade for a drink. The building is quite tall but it is hard to believe it was once the tallest building in Sydney. It was quite well patronised and had an awesome dining room upstairs which... More

I love it here. The views are to die for and there is a wonderful atmosphere. However - don't expect you will get a good seat (or a seat at all!) if you go at a vaguely popular time. Rather pricy, and drinks take an age to arrive so order a good 20 minutes before you actually want them. Yet... More

The following is an email I sent to the Palisades. It is self explanatory and they have not responded. We will not be back. "Dear sirs, We returned to the Palisade Hotel for the second time since it reopened last Saturday afternoon. Our previous visit was when the hotel had just reopened and the restaurant was not operational. Having had... More

Went for lunch but the menu is only limited re food and pages and pages of drinks. I thought expensive - $13 for a glass of Rose. The building is a treat and the views stunning. Pretty pricey. Not a family venue. Smokers on the verandah just outside where we were eating.
