They have dorm rooms with shared facilities, but also have family rooms with private bathrooms. The room we got could sleep up to 6 and was $190. The linen and towels was all provided in the family rooms. Beds were good. Shared kitchen and lounge are pretty good. No parking on site, but goulburn st parking is 400m away. A... More

We had a great time in the Big Hostel, even if it was just for one night. The guys at the reception were really kind, the room was ready as soon as we arrived, at 9am, the room was super clean, as the private bathroom, and pretty big, and the bed was really comfortable. It's 10mins walking distance from Sydney... More

Stayed here with my husband and 2 friends for 6 days while we went on a holiday late August. Hostel is 5-10 minute walk or 2 blocks from Central Station and has bus stops right beside and across us. It is surrounded by restaurants (Dominos, Juicy Lucy, a Thai place, a sandwich place and convenience store), a grocery right when... More

We had a lads weekend in Sydney - booked in at the Big Hostel online - easy, quick, clear communication. Its a 2 minute walk from Central train station! 6 bed dorm w/ bathroom, comfy beds, shower was fine. The hostel had a really cool vibe with a big communal area including kitchen. The roof top area has some choice... More

Stayed there overnight on our way through Sydney. Surprisingly it was better then we thought! Good vibes around the hostel, good facilities, old school vending machines and a big common area. Aside a few things being broken (the elevator was a little creepy- we took the stairs) and the rooms being a bit dirty, it was generally an alright place.

Big hostel is a very nice hostel near central station. It is close to the train station and about 2 km to Circular Quay (but it is a lovely and easy walk). The beds were good and every one had huge lockers! Breakfast was included (toasts, spreads, cereals), so was unlimited internet (only on the ground floor though) and tea/coffee.... More

My overall stay in the hostel is excellent. Friendly and helpful staff and guest. The room is clean and comfortable (my roommate is nice). Facilities were great. The breakfast is good (Apricot Jam with toast is the best). Don't cook in the morning because the kitchen is full. The kitchen is a bit messy in the morning between 8am to 9am.... More

Today, this area has evolved into a hub of media, design and professional services - a colorful and diverse place equally known for its antique dealers, art galleries, cafes and pubs. Strolling down the street on a Saturday morning, you’ll see a mix of students, artists, hipsters and a few all-nighters from Oxford Street, the “Gay Capital of Sydney”. In this vibrant neighborhood you will find bohemian chic and modern style co-existing side by side.
