We were here two years ago with my sisters, and when my daughter and I came back to Sydney we decided on Meriton Pitt Street again. The main problem we had with this stay, was that I decided to do a small wash in the washing machine. Unfortunately, there was some blockage in the drain (I was told due to... More

Located right near Town Hall station, very easy access to the CBD. Gill the porter was absolutely lovely & so helpful, along with the girls who checked us in. Lower floors are a bit noisy (but it is the City after all!) and the view was not special at all (we were in 2601). Kitchen was very spacious and easy... More

Requested a room away from lifts and with a good view - neither of these were filled. The bed was extremely comfortable. Not enough space in bathroom to put toiletries and bags. Room needed a good dusting - obviously the cleaners are not given enough time to do this, which is not good for asthmatics and the like.

These apartments have a great location, close to the main shopping area malls of the city, near the museums and art gallery. However the floor we stayed on was noisy because of building work in an adjacent site. This started early in the morning and continued all day. I had requested a room on the highest floor possible in a... More

good check in, very pleasant rooms and very good value for money plus has wifi whereas others do not, or charge a fortune. BIG PLUS. Bed, shower, cleanliness all very good. It is also only 10-15 mins walking to all the main business areas and close to the harbor and sights too. Having a balcony helped, as a smoker.

I stayed with my family (wife and 1.8 year old boy) for 6 nights on the 35th floor. It was the first time for us to use such apartment, but overall we had a good stay. Below is the feedback for our experience: (Pros) -The view from the balcony was nice, able to see the Sydney tower, QVB, St Andrew's... More

The apartment was ideally suited for our business purpose and very spacious to accomodate our family visit. We were ideally close to the city. They are ideally suited to a family wanting a city holiday. Negatives, the lifts are few and you can have very long waits for a lift. Also I was not comfortable with a fast route out of... More

Great location and the rooms are always lovely. My only issue with the Meriton is that they have huge bonds/deposits when you stay there and if you put it on your card it takes about 2 weeks to get the money back. A lot of hotels have this however Meriton's deposits are really high, $200 for a one bedroom $400... More

Staying in Central Business District

Neighborhood Profile
Central Business District
The Sydney Central Business District is abuzz with energy. Power brokers run to and from high rise buildings and after-work drink places, high-end shoppers tour venues like the QVB, and fine diners frequent the many celebrity chef restaurants. For a dose of culture, walk to the NSW Art Gallery, or visit the Sydney Museum. To escape the hustle and bustle, reconnect with nature at the Sydney Botanical Gardens or picnic lunch at High Park. No matter your interest, be sure to check the full calendar of events hosted by the city, from the Sydney Festival in January to October’s Good Food Month at Hyde Park.
