Zara Tower Hotel garners accolades for its host of well-received amenities, such as in-room laundry and modern tech, ensuring a comfortable stay. Guests commend the staff's stellar service and the hotel's cleanliness, with its modern rooms and facilities. While some visitors mention the value is balanced by its central location, others find it slightly expensive. Reviews highlight spacious, well-equipped rooms, although noise from the surrounding area is a noted downside. Despite mixed feelings about the foyer's ambiance, the hotel's atmosphere shines in the stylish comfort of its rooms.

Have to see the Zara Suites were amazing. The staff so friendly and helpful. The accommodation was excellent and they very kindly left a welcome bottle of wine. All the extras like washing powder, washing up liquid asked in advance if we wanted any groceries in advance which was a great service as we arrived in late and tired after a transatlantic flight. Bed comfy, bathroom lovely, great to have a washing machine and dryer facility in our suite. Cant recommend it highly enough. Thank you Zara Suites

This is distinctly 3-4* hotel in my opinion.
My arrival at the hotel wasn't as frictionless as I am used to. Gpay advertised but somehow unavailable. That might sound trivial, but as someone who is an advocate of paperless accounting, it annoyed me. I was asked to pay the entire bill upfront, maybe that's an Aussie thing, and then was asked for a sizeable deposit on top of it. That's odd for a hotel that doesn't really offer or provide ANY services, not even breakfast or a bar. That's not a problem because you are surrounded by eateries, but it still feels a little odd.
The reception area feels a bit more like a hostel than a real hotel, and is not in anyway a 5* experience.
My room is great (I am still here) but the sight of a large cockroach running around it tonight has set me on edge, and makes me want to check out immediately. There is NOTHING 5* ABOUT COCKROACHES.
The technology in the room is fine but overcomplicated and a bit crap. If you want to cast to the TV, you have to disconnect from the wifi and connect directly to the TV. Doh! Not exactly useful.

Location was the first win, only a short walk to the hustle and bustle of Sydney and minutes from the restaurants of Surry Hills. It is surrounded by main roads however we never heard them while we were in our room.

We stayed in a Sky Suite which had a huge bath and great design. The layout of the room was very functional and the control over the lighting and blinds etc. really added to the stay. Plenty of storage and a couple of seating areas, overhead shower was very nice and the overall design and finishes of the room were great.

The staff were all very friendly and efficient and our room was always clean and nicely tidied. Location was great if wanting to explore outside the city as there was trains, buses and trams nearby but also was outside the gridlock so rideshares/taxis were cheaper. Lots of green spaces within a short walk including Hyde Park and little pocket parks amongst Surry Hills.

There were a couple of minor maintenance things which can easily be fixed such as a loose light fitting and a blind that let in a little too much light on the side but this feedback was provided directly to the hotel upon checkout. But overall a great hotel in a wonderful location. My one recommendation for the hotel would be to look at alternate bath/soap products - compared to other hotels at a similar price point I found the soap/shampoo/gels to be on the cheap side and didn't do an amazing job nor did they exude luxury like the rest of the room.

Other than that I would definitely stay here again next time I'm in Sydney.

This is a hard review to write as, while Tim is amazing, and the two bedroom apartment was huge and very nicely furnished, there was something a bit off about this Hotel. The fixtures are a bit scuffed and the air con system is from the 70s. The clientele is mixed, I bumped into two people clearly off their heads on drugs, in the lifts when I went out for dinner. But there were also families and couples checking in. The hotel took a $400 preauthorisation on my card because, in the words of the receptionist, some people party and trash the rooms. It is very convenient for central and, again, everyone on reception was REALLY nice. But I probably won’t stay here again. As a thirty year old woman, I didn’t feel all that safe in the lifts late at night. The two bedroom had a laundry, bath, plastic plates and bowls, a tiny thing of milk in the fridge, a microwave and I think an oven (can’t really remember).

Thanks for your review, firstly we're sorry to hear that you won't like to stay with us again. We do our best to accomodate our guest's needs during their stay, and we have a variety of different guests. The reason we have a pre auth, is that you have access to a fully furnished 2 bedroom, 2 bathroom apartment with a full laundry and kitchen (with an oven). The air con was installed when the building was completed in 2013, if you had any issues with its operation during your stay, we have 24/7 front desk staff that are available to assist. The safety of our guests is of our utmost priority, and we have security cameras in the lifts, and there is front desk staff available at all hours, we're sorry to hear that you did not feel safe in the lifts late at night. We also only allow registered guests access to the building after 11pm. Thank you again for taking the time to review your stay, and we're happy to hear that you like the apartment. Warm regards, Zara Tower Management Team

Sadly due to corona virus we never made it to this hotel for our honeymoon. So we cannot comment on the hotel quality.
BUT I do advise everyone not to book with this hotel.
They have refused to refund any money back to us despite the Australian government banning all travel which prevented us from visiting the hotel.
Having called and emailed and going via hotels.com the hotel management have refused to refund.
They have only offered a voucher for credit but I will not accepted this as it is not secure to know I can use it again also we do not know when we will be able to travel within the allocated time frame.

DO NOT BOOK they will keep your money.

We're sorry you found the option provided to you as unsatisfactory. The option of an extended covid credit was the best solution we could offer under the extraordinary situation that was the original covid outbreak and lockdowns. Under the circumstances that were out of our control, we intended to provide a solution that was reasonable.

The room was very aesthetically pleasing, bed was super comfortable and all the reception staff were really kind and helpful.

What needs to be mentioned though is that the room offers little more than aesthetics. I stayed in the Sky Room with Bath which had a severe lack of storage. You’ll find that there’s really no where to put your bags down as soon as you enter.

In addition, bath robes and slippers are not provided even though the Bath area is not closed off from the rest of the room. Getting out of the bath was very messy and I’ve never stayed at a hotel where these items are not provided to guests.

The room is also advertised as having a balcony but this is seriously misleading. The “balcony” is more of a shelf or ledge, less that a foot wide and barely enough to stand on. You’ll notice that they haven’t uploaded any photos of this so called balcony on the website. I was really shocked by what I saw and have never seen anything like that anywhere else.

House keeping was also just really not up to par. On our second day at Zara Tower we left the room for several hours to grab something to eat and do some shopping. When we were leaving we noticed house keeping was cleaning a room right next to ours so we made sure to switch off the privacy light and turn on the tidy up light so that our room could be cleaned. To our surprise, when we returned later that afternoon, the room was just as we’d left it. We actually had to call reception later that evening and have them come clean and provide new towels. This is also something I’ve never experienced anywhere else.

Overall 3/5 rating from me.

Hi Shemeiy, Thank you for telling us about your recent stay. We are sorry to read that the room booked didn't meet your expectations. Unfortunately, not all the Sky Rooms have a big balcony and that's why we have photos online showing room types, features, and sizes. We really want to assist our guests in booking the right room for their needs and avoid any misleading information. Regarding the cleaning service, unfortunately, housekeeping found the room in Do Not Disturb. We provided the service upon your request then. Don't hesitate to contact our Reception for any assistance or special request to make your stay as pleasant as possible. We look forward to welcoming you back!

The location is excellent, being close to the usual tourist spots in Sydney as well as lots of eateries in the vicinity being very close to Chinatown.
There are not many apartments in the heart of Sydney with laundry facilities, two bedrooms and a pull-out bed and for this price range, it was also excellent.
The apartment was well furnished in a contemporary design and looked newish. It was very clean and would be serviced every day.
The staff were all fabulous, helpful and friendly.
Highly recommended.

I have been a world wide, full time traveler for work for the past 10yrs. I Have seen it all!
Zara has been my primary Choice for accommodation in Sydney over the past 2yrs and will continue to be.
The facilities are modern, spacious & very comfortable! The rooms are cleaned & presented perfectly & always done in a timely manner.
There are a variety of room types and all of them are beautiful and value for money.

The reception staff are all kind and accommodating. One in particular that truly goes above & beyond is Tim! His customer service is 5 star!

Location is perfect! Everything you need, right there and a short walk to the CBD

I highly recommend Zara to anyone looking for Sydney accommodation

Zara towers is a gem in Surry Hills!

Myself and my colleagues have been staying at this location for upwards of 3 years and we always look forward to our next stay.

The rooms have a modern/industrial vibe and are maintained to perfection. The staff on site could not be more accommodating, any request is auctioned almost immediately and they endeavor to make our stay as enjoyable and easy as possible. A special mention to Tim, who is always delightful to chat to and goes above and beyond to assist with anything at all during our stay.

Will definitely be recommending Zara to anyone traveling to Sydney. For both business and social purposes.

Thanks so much for being so accommodating!!

I hired a Luxury Plus Soho Suite for a friends birthday dinner and drinks. Firstly, the images do not do the size of the room justice, it's huge! With a full kitchen, spacious lounge area and a central bedroom, we were spoilt for space. There was even an area for our 8 guests to leave their jackets and bags. The room is well appointed, with a urban industrial feel and although on the 2nd floor, was well insulated against sound.

The staff were friendly, even through the additional COVID-19 requirements and welcomed our guests on arrival. This was truly a pleasant surprise and I will definitely return.

Hello, What amenities are on property? Is there a pool? Gym? Store? Business center?
Answer from Manager Z

We do have a gym on site. If you're looking for somewhere to swim there are 2 local pools in close vicinity; Cook and Phillip Pool, or Prince Alfred Pool. We don't have a store, but can provide a personal shopping service so you have groceries in your apartment on arrival. There are also multiple supermarkets a short walk away. The rooms all have free fast wifi. There is no separate business centre.

There is the airport express train that will bring you to Central station. This is about a 10 minute walk from Zara. You can catch an uber or taxi which is approximately 20 - 30minutes away depending on traffic. Zara also offers a private airport transfer, so please contact our front desk team and they can give you additional information on this service.

All our suites have one bathroom per bedroom. The only layout that doesn't is our 3 bedroom apartments that have 2 bathrooms, not three.

Hi There, Certainly, our Two Bedroom Apartments are ideal for 4 people, but an extra fold out bed can be arranged for a 5th person. It is $50 per night for the additional fold out bed :) Thank you for your enquiry and for considering Zara Tower for your stay!
